A century-old restaurant, located in the core of Datong Ancient City, very close to Huayan Temple, Nine Dragon Wall, etc., with an antique style, elegant environment, good taste, and inexpensive price. The only thing is that the business hours are a bit short😄. If you go before 8 o'clock in the evening, you will stop taking numbers. Friends who want to go should pay attention to the business hours! The dishes are large, ordered steamed buns, cold cabbage hearts, pure mutton offal (no smell at all, especially clean and delicious), sweet and sour meatballs (sweet and sour, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, large quantity), hot and sour soup (you can order half a portion, the quantity is very sufficient, the other dishes were not finished, the hot and sour soup is the only one that I drank clean😄 delicious)
Fenglin Pavilion is a place famous for its food, especially the three fresh and hundreds of flowers stewed dishes here are loved by everyone. The key is that the entrance is guarded at the source to ensure safety, so everyone can eat with special peace of mind.
The main store in Antique Street is closed, so I can only check in at this Parkson branch. The taste is great. I recommended it to my friends in the group for a long time. I think the siu mai looks good at 168 yuan. However, this meal cost 68 yuan per person and the taste is also great. I don’t know if I didn’t meet the best state of the chef. Today’s siu mai is more about appearance, and the taste can only be said to be okay. But the other dishes gave me a big surprise, especially the fried meat, which is very tender and shows the skill. The mutton offal soup is also great, delicious and dry!
As soon as I arrived in Datong, I couldn't wait to check in at Fenglin Pavilion. I took a taxi to the Gucheng main store, but it was under renovation. The kind driver helped me call and ask if this store was open, and I went there immediately. The decoration of Weizhuang store is very good, the service is also superb, and the dishes are very exquisite. It is the best meal I have had in the whole Shanxi. I packed some because I couldn't finish it. When I checked out, I saw that the average cost per person was only 100 yuan, OMG! In Shanghai, this decoration and dishes, no one can afford it for 250 yuan per person. Friends who go to Datong must not miss it!
Fenglin Pavilion is the most famous and oldest restaurant in Datong. With 500 years of history, I gave up going to Yungang Grottoes and chose to eat here. Passing Chunyang Palace from Drum Tower, I felt that the antique street was deserted. Only when I arrived at Fenglin Pavilion with carved beams and painted buildings and antique style did I feel like I was in the ancient city. The restaurant is currently open for lunch from 11:30 to 14:00 and dinner from 17:40 to 21:00 (Friday and Saturday nights are extended for half an hour). We arrived at 1 pm, and there were still many customers queuing. The waitress who was responsible for calling numbers was already exhausted. As soon as I hesitated, the private room with the lowest consumption she called was taken away by someone else. Well, looking at the hopeless number in our hands, we decided to go to the nearby Huayan Temple first and change the lunch plan to dinner. We hurriedly visited Huayan Temple and arrived at the restaurant at 4 o'clock. Wow, dozens of people had already taken numbers and were waiting inside or outside. It felt like we had taken numbers. The restaurant was divided into large, medium, small tables and private rooms according to the number of diners. The number was called at 17:35 on time. Each type of number was called alternately. Luckily, we got our turn when the second batch called. Entering, the space was very large, as if we had entered an old mansion, magnificent, full of royal style and Han style, but not tacky. I looked through the menu and ordered representative dishes: Three-flavor oil cake 28 yuan, golden oil cake, according to its shape, the filling inside is divided into three types, the frying temperature is well controlled, not greasy; Oat noodle nest 13 yuan, shaped like a honeycomb, served in a bamboo basket, dipped in mushroom hot soup or mutton hot soup, more refreshing and soft; Sliced noodles 12 yuan, as a local specialty traditional noodle food in Datong City, Shanxi Province, it is also one of the "Top Ten Noodles in China" , is one of the most representative business cards of the world-renowned Shanxi cuisine. The restaurant's knife-cut noodles are thick and smooth, with fragrant sauce and a little greasy; Three Fresh Hundred Flowers Shaomai is 58 yuan, as one of the restaurant's signature dishes. There are even statues of children and old people eating Shaomai at the door of the store. It feels like every table of customers is ordering it, and we are no exception. There are 9 in a basket (this can be ordered by place, half a basket, or a basket). The color is mainly yellow, green and white, and the shape is somewhat flower-shaped. The Shaomai filling is very solid and the taste is full, which is well-deserved; Yiwosi 22 yuan, it feels slightly different from Ningwu Yiwosi, it is bigger, and the white sugar and chocolate chips make the dish too high in calories, right? ; Healthy Hulusi is 22 yuan, a dish that has been well received by both young and old in the industry. It is in the shape of a pagoda and is refreshing and crispy; Pingcheng Fried Pork is 36 yuan. Datong is also called Pingcheng. Shanxi Fried Pork is said to be the gold dish of the first cooking competition in my country. It can be seen that it is derived from the foundation of official cuisine. The dish is red in color, the tenderloin is very large, and the taste is very tender. The waiters were warm and sincere throughout the whole process. There was no bullying by the store. The overall dining experience was excellent.
