First time in Dunhuang, the food is delicious and the service is very good

I found a recommended restaurant in a shopping mall. The people in the store are very enthusiastic. Not only did they often ask me if I needed help during the meal, but they also chased me out to lead me to the elevator after paying the bill. Of course, the most important thing is the experience of the dishes below⬇️ ✨Poplar wood braised pancake: This dish is cooked with poplar wood, and the braised pancake is actually braised with noodles. (When the dish was served in the store, there was a small introduction card) The waiter also told me that if it was cold, I could ask him to reheat it. When I ate it, I felt that it tasted very much like big plate chicken. Of course, the difference is that it mainly contains mutton, noodles, and green peppers. The mutton is very tender, although I ate a few pieces of fat meat and couldn't eat it anymore. There is not much smell. The noodles are super big, and I tasted the green pepper flavor at the first bite, and then the mutton fragrance permeated. In short, the noodles are really delicious after being soaked in the soup! A comfortable 8-day, 7-night semi-independent tour of the Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop with kids, featuring stunning scenery throughout. This family-friendly guide is a must-have! Day 0: Nanjing ✈️ Xining Landed and took the airport bus to Xining Railway Station (cost 23 RMB). Dinner at the Ancient City Kangguo King – delicious and light dishes suitable for kids! Overnight in Xining to acclimatize to the altitude. Day 1: Xining → Riyue Mountain → Donggeer Viewpoint of Qinghai Lake → Chaka Salt Lake Departed at 6:30 AM and returned to Xining at 8:30 PM. Booked a small group tour on Ctrip for 228 RMB – super convenient with kids, no need to worry about transportation! The driver even took us to the mountain for a panoramic view of Qinghai Lake – absolutely breathtaking! After the tour, we went to Wankelai in Xinqian Night Market to buy tourist clothes—cheap and affordable! The entrance fee to Chaka Salt Lake was 160 yuan. The "Mirror of the Sky" of China is incredibly beautiful; dressing the kids in bright colors makes for amazing family photos! For dinner, we checked out the popular restaurant Ga Zhang Wa; the food was decent, and they have children's meals available. Overnight in Xining. Day 2: Xining → Golmud (Rest Day) We slept in until 11 am, then took the high-speed train to Golmud (215 yuan/person). The scenery along the way was stunning, passing Qinghai Lake. We took the kids to enjoy the high-altitude lake scenery. We arrived at 6 pm and had dinner at Muyunjian Yak Beef Hot Pot. I recommend the "horse piss" (a type of beef dish) and mutton rolls—they were delicious! The kids even ate the clear broth version. Overnight in Golmud. Day 3: Golmud → Qarhan Salt Lake → Yardang Landform → Water Yardang We booked a one-day tour through Ctrip for 167 yuan, departing at 7 am and returning to Golmud at 8:30 pm. The scenery was especially beautiful that day! Chaka Salt Lake is "China's largest salt lake," with its azure waters offering a magnificent experience for children. The unique water-based Yardang landforms are like an alien world, sure to pique kids' curiosity. Chaka Salt Lake + Water Yardang entrance fee: 220 yuan. Dinner: Dingdingniu Yidi Dry Pot Yak Beef – incredibly delicious, highly recommend the spicy flavor (choose the clear broth for kids). Overnight in Golmud. Day 4: Golmud → Da Qaidam Emerald Lake → Heidushan → Dunhuang. A one-day tour on Ctrip for 498 yuan includes a walk from Emerald Lake to Honey Lake (approximately 10,000 steps per hour), with stunning scenery, even more vibrant than Chaka Salt Lake. Heidushan is breathtakingly beautiful, perfect for photos. Opposite the scenic area is the oil town, offering a unique landform experience for children. Heidushan + Emerald Lake entrance fee: 170 yuan. Arrive in Dunhuang around 10 PM. Dinner: Zhenpinxiang Lamb Stew with Flatbread – incredibly fragrant, highly recommended! Overnight in Dunhuang~ Day 5: Dunhuang Rest → Mingsha Mountain Woke up at 11 am, queued for Ga Liu lamb, got a number at noon but didn't get to eat until 2:30 pm. The food was amazing, great value, and the kids loved it! Departed for Mingsha Mountain at 6 pm. Tickets were 110 yuan. After attending the 10,000-person concert, queued for an hour for the free shuttle bus to the night market. At Mingsha Mountain, you can take the kids camel riding and sandboarding to experience the fun of the desert. Remember to wear sunscreen! Dinner was roadside fruit to replenish vitamins. Overnight in Dunhuang~ Day 6: Dunhuang → Zhangye → Ping Shan Lake Grand Canyon Took the high-speed train from Dunhuang to Zhangye (174.5 yuan/person). In the afternoon, joined a half-day bus tour of Ping Shan Lake Grand Canyon (48 yuan), plus a 306 yuan entrance fee for a comprehensive scenic tour. Ping Shan Lake Grand Canyon boasts spectacular landforms; a great place to take photos with the kids to appreciate the wonders of nature! Lunch at Qi Sao Zi Mala Tang (non-spicy available), dinner at Lao Zhang Ji Shandan Fried Pot, both were amazing! Overnight in Zhangye. Day 7: Zhangye → Mati Temple → Rainbow Mountains → Xining Book a one-day tour on Ctrip for 120 yuan. Morning visit to Mati Temple (entrance fee 83 yuan), unique temple architecture, a great way to experience religious culture with kids; afternoon visit to the Rainbow Mountains Scenic Area (deep tour 328 yuan), the colorful Danxia landforms, a breathtaking natural palette for kids!
