E34***63Rainbow mountains was one of my China highlights.  They are spectacular. The best time to go is the afternoon because the light is better, and ideally after its been raining. There are 4 viewing platform areas 1,2,4,5 with #4 being the best.  You must get the shuttle bus to each stop, not permitted to walk. The views are breathtakingly beautiful.  I was in awe. Make sure you got lots of room on your camera!  It can get crowded as you'd expect but there are lots of quiet spots too. It's well signposted and easy to navigate. Lots of drink vendors available including some decent coffee at stop #1. Bring sun protection as you're really exposed here. And wear comfortable shoes. 60RMB for a ticket. It's around 40KM from the city

_We***73This place brought so many memories from home. I Loved walking on the sand dunes and honestly you really don't need the boots that they try to sell you.Fortunately, I got there when not many people were there, so I got to walk around the area without the disruption of other tourists. I also appreciate that this attraction is not very far away from downtown Dunhuang, which makes the experience time efficient.Definitely worth at least one visit.

UNESCO World Heritage-Cultural Site
E49***64The Mogao Grottoes have beautiful caves and a lot of background history. You can pay extra for an English tour guide - it is worth it. The “Magao Grottoes” ice creams are so yummy (you can find them close at the exit). #Gansu#MagaoGrottoes

Sabhywe visited Maiji mountain grottoes with friends. The place is filled with histories. The sculptures on the wall amazing. You can see beautiful landscape from the top of the grottoes. The entrance fee is about 80 yuan. If you take high speed train from lanzhou, it’s about one and half hour journey. From Tianshuinan station, transportation are available towards Maijishan.
