I took my mom to Qiandeng Lake in Foshan over the weekend. We were tired from walking and decided to go looking for some snacks. She was craving some dim sum, and there was a branch of Cai Lan's Hong Kong-style dim sum restaurant in nearby Huanyu City. I'd been there once before and loved it, so this was a great time to bring my family. The restaurant is located on the 4th floor of Huanyu City, next to the elevator in the middle, making it easy to find. It was a bit crowded, so we had to wait for a table. The restaurant is bright, clean, and tidy. From the kitchen, we can see the chefs preparing the dishes, all freshly made. Order by scanning the QR code. The food comes quickly, and the service is excellent and responsive. Each person gets a pot of tea, and you can choose from a variety of teas. The hawthorn juice is complimentary, perfect for a refreshing after-dinner treat. Cai Lan's Steamed Dim Sum Platter: This is perfect for a small group. You can try a variety of dim sum dishes at once, including the crab, shrimp dumplings, black truffle and mushroom dumplings, and lava buns. Each one is exquisite and delicious. Cai Lan's must-try platter: Crispy BBQ pork buns, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with the pork not too fatty, so delicious. Lotus egg white spring rolls, crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. Crispy shumai (steamed pork belly) – usually steamed, but this deep-fried version is quite special. Golden Tripe: Braised until tender and flavorful. Lotus Chicken Soup Wontons: Small wontons, a bit like fish skin dumplings, with shrimp filling, bite-sized and delicious. Crispy Black Roast Duck Buns: Like the Crispy BBQ pork buns, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, but with roast duck filling. I went shopping at Qiandeng Lake over the weekend. My bestie and I had lunch together and saw Cai Lan Dim Sum on the fourth floor. I couldn't move anymore and decided to give it a try. 🤩Cai Lan's Crispy Bun Platter This platter includes three flavors of bao. I can't help but be amazed! How could it be so delicious! Eat the bao while it's hot. The wrapper is incredibly crispy. It's so crispy you'll feel right at home. The different fillings inside offer a unique flavor. Absolutely amazing. 🤩 Crab-like Phoenix Eye Dumplings I was captivated by the appearance. The design is so unique. The texture is like crab 🦀️, not really crab. No wonder they're called crab-like. They're filled with giant shrimp 🍤. The ingredients are plentiful. 🤩 Black Truffle and Fresh Mushroom Dumplings Although they're fresh mushroom dumplings 🥟, they're not sloppy at all. The vibrant green wrappers look incredibly vibrant. I'll definitely try their other dishes next time.
