Locals here rarely go to this place for pigeon soup. Their soup is indeed decent, with a good ginseng flavor and the pigeon meat isn't dry. But honestly, at over a hundred yuan a bowl, you're only paying for the soup.
I've had quite a few braised ducks before, but this one with perilla leaves was truly fragrant, and the duck meat was firm enough. However, I highly recommend you try the steamed pork ribs with cardamom; that unique aroma is unlike anything I've had elsewhere, and I remembered it from the first time I tried it.
The fish tofu was indeed delicious. We pay special attention to the cooking time and temperature when making this dish here, and their chicken was just right. Actually, locals don't go there much, but this dish alone is one of their best.
