Wow! So cheap! Shaxian is truly a carb-lovers' paradise. The delicious food is mostly concentrated around the pedestrian street. ✅ Families, bookmark this! Don't miss Chiwei Alley! (p2) 😆The Chiwei Courtyard inside has a lot of local specialties. ⬇️Below are the shops and food recommendations & side dishes. 1️⃣ Ah Ming Spring Rolls Freshly wrapped spring rolls 2.5💰 / Deep-fried spring rolls 3💰 2️⃣ Qiao Yun Xi Guo Xi Guo 5💰 / 4 pieces per serving The Xi Guo is very affordable, but not to my taste. The outside is made of what looks like sweet potato flour, and the inside is filled with bamboo shoots, mushrooms, and meat! This price is perfect for trying something new, and it tastes even better with the sauce. 3️⃣ Xian Feng Snacks Mixed Xia Mao noodles 6💰 with flat meat 6💰 This Xia Mao Noodles is a bit different from regular mixed noodles. The oil used is lighter, and adding some of their special chili makes it even more delicious! The meat filling in the flat meat is very chewy and delicious! 4️⃣ Chiwei Green Grass Jelly 6💰/bottle This green grass jelly is similar to grass jelly, but you can choose to add or without mint! The mint version also has a slightly cooling effect, and with mint, it's even cooler... It's a little less bitter than grass jelly, highly recommended. 5️⃣ Jialan Siu Mai Siu Mai 10💰, Hot Tofu 5💰, Tofu Balls 5💰, Duck Leg 7💰 This siu mai is very different from our regular siu mai because it's filled with flour. Shredded pork and dried bamboo shoots are very refreshing. I highly recommend the tofu ball soup, which is delicious and filled with meat filling. The tofu here is excellent! The duck legs are smoked. Shaxian duck legs are all incredibly fragrant. I bought them blindly from three different places and none of them disappoint! This one is a bit pricey. It's 5💰 in Shaxian Snack Culture City. 6️⃣ Wood-cooked Grass Jelly Grass Jelly 6💰 Sour Plum Soup 6💰 Sweet Rice Wine 8💰 I highly recommend their Grass Jelly; it's really good for cooling down in the summer. Their drinks aren't overly sweet! Highly recommend the Grass Jelly, and I'll keep buying it. It's very refreshing. The Sour Plum Soup is also delicious, with a slight minty flavor. The sweet rice wine is just like regular rice wine. = 7️⃣ Huarong Bakery This seems to be a specialty bakery in Sanming! My friend from Sanming said he's been eating there since he was a kid. I bought a few dishes and none of them were disappointing. If you're passing by, you should definitely stop by and check it out! I absolutely love the blueberry caterpillar bread! 3.5💰 is a great value! Delicious! The prices listed above are for the items I tried. The price list for other dishes at each store is also in the pictures. The shops are all quite close together; the farthest one is only four or five yuan by taxi. Speaking of which, taxis in Shaxian are really cheap. A day in Shaxian! You can eat a lot for around 50💰 per person.
