During summer vacation, I still have to plan a beach trip for my kids—to dig in the sand, swim, and experience the vastness of the ocean. This year, we booked a stay at the Evergrande Sea Venice Hotel in Qidong, Nantong. Tips: Choose a hotel based on your budget. There's also the Evergrande Sea Castle Hotel and various B&Bs nearby, but the Castle Hotel is about 1 kilometer away from the azure sea and silver sand. If you have the budget, definitely choose the Sea Venice Hotel. We drove about 2.5 hours to the Sea Venice Hotel. On the way, we received a call from the hotel staff to let us know our room was ready. Thank you! The hotel has separate parking for guests, and we parked underground. A word of caution: it's a bit far away; if you're not afraid of the sun, parking on the ground floor is better. Sharing my itinerary and tips: After checking in, the children were given special gift bags containing dolls and other items, a real plus for a family-friendly resort hotel. For lunch, we brought our own and then bought some simple snacks from various shops downstairs, like coconuts and sausages. Afterwards, we headed to the indoor pool at the sports center. Since it gets quite sunny at noon, we decided to go indoors first. It's located at the second intersection after turning right from the hotel entrance to the beach, a 5-minute walk or more. Hotel guests can register their room number and pick up their locker key. After swimming, we headed to the blue sea and white sand beach. Hotel guests have a dedicated entrance on the far right, with unlimited access using your room card. There's an infinity pool and a beach, so remember to wear sunscreen! We first took the kids to the beach to dig in the sand and play in the water. Umbrellas and tents are available for rent on the beach. Afterwards, we went to the infinity pool. Remember to bring a swim cap, or you won't be allowed in! Also, remember to bring a towel or bathrobe; it can be quite cold out there in the wind. After 4:00 PM, the crowds are peak, and the lines can be very long. Hotel guests should use the dedicated entrance; the lines won't be as long, so don't be intimidated by them. Then it was time for dinner. We went to the Cantonese restaurant in the food court, located at the first intersection after turning right from the hotel's beach entrance. Overall, the value was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was a nice break after a long afternoon of fun. After dinner, you can play games with the children at the hotel entrance, like playing balloons. There are also plenty of snacks on both sides, so if you don't want to eat, you can try some different snacks. Afterwards, there was a high-altitude fireworks show at 8 o'clock on the north side of the beach. When we went, there was also an electronic music festival and various performances. You can plan your itinerary based on the day's schedule. After that, we watched the children's stage play "Cinderella." Turn left at the first intersection outside the hotel, next to the ground parking lot. It's about 10 minutes from the beach. The kids loved it, so if you can make it, take them. Finally, we went back to the room to wash up and sleep.
