This place has been really popular lately. I went there late the first time, and the owner said they weren't issuing numbers anymore. I got up at noon today and went straight there, but honestly, I was quite disappointed and won't be going back. First, the place is very small, smoky, and incredibly hot. In Shanghai summer, I'm sweating profusely after less than half an hour. Many of the meats, like the beef and pork belly, were of poor quality. They were tough and inedible after being grilled, and they weren't as good as at regular street BBQ places. Although the price was only 88, factoring in the time it took to wait in line, the value for money wasn't great. But there are some things I can praise: The wait staff were very helpful and proactive, constantly changing the grill plates and collecting the trash. They also have perilla leaves, which is something you don't often find at BBQ restaurants in Shanghai. To sum up, for a demanding foodie, I won't be returning to this place, line or not. After all, there are so many delicious BBQ places in Shanghai.
