You can also simmer other cuts like diaolong ban, diaolong meat, fresh beef, and tender meat for just 10 seconds 🥹🥹 ❤️‍🔥 Yuwan Ximen Shuangtoujian When you're on Ermalu, you have to try this place's Shuangtoujian. It's 10+ per person. The taro paste is so delicious. Highly recommend the taro paste Shuangtoujian, a Shanwei specialty. 😝 ❤️‍🔥 Shanzhong Road Junction Pancake Lots of locals come to this Ermalu pancake shop. 15+ per person. Taste: Sweet Pancake. The drive from Shenzhen to Shanwei takes about two hours. Unfortunately, I arrived during a typhoon. All scenic spots were closed the day before the typhoon arrived... The Castle Café and Windmill Island I had originally planned to visit were both closed, forcing my 3-day, 2-night itinerary to be shortened to 2. But Shanwei is truly delicious! Delicious food doesn't spoil the mood! 🛏️ Accommodation: Booked the Atour Hotel in the city center. This new hotel opened this year, and the ambiance and service are exceptional. For a few hundred yuan a night, it was incredibly comfortable. I especially wanted to mention that Shanwei was closed during the typhoon. However, the hotel provided me with free emergency lunch and dinner. This was incredibly thoughtful! 👍 If you don't absolutely need to stay by the sea, and you're looking for quality accommodations, stay at Atour. 📍 Highlights: 1⃣️ Sunset Surf Shop: This shop is located on Haibian Road in Red Bay and has a great atmosphere. It's a great place to take photos and watch the sunset. The coffee is very reasonably priced! A raw coconut latte is 28 RMB per cup. 2⃣️ Shanwei's most beautiful coastal highway This road is a must-go on the way to Windmill Island. Since Windmill Island was closed due to the typhoon, I came here to watch the sunset. It's truly beautiful, with windmills on one side and the sunset on the other. 🌄 😋 Food: Ermalu has a lot of delicious food during the day, but there are no street vendors during the day. At night, there are street vendors. This area is mainly a night market. Shops usually open at noon, so don't go too early. 1⃣️ Convenient Xiong Tang Noodle Shop I really like their signature kway teow soup. It comes with barbecued pork, fish balls, fish dumplings, and more. A small portion is NT$20; be sure to specify the size when ordering. My friend said the pig intestines were delicious, though a bit salty, perfect with rice. The fried fish skin, soaked in the kway teow soup until softened, was delicious. 2⃣️ Zong Ji Dessert Shop I highly recommend the Cha Cha, which has a rich, milky flavor. It contains black glutinous rice, red beans, taro, and more. I find the texture and sweetness to be acceptable, not too sweet. I personally don't recommend the Jiu Mao Gao (Kuaishou) because it's too sweet! While the texture was good, I couldn't handle the overly sweet syrup. 3⃣️ Pancakes at Shanzhong Road Junction I tried both savory and sweet pancakes, and I personally preferred the savory ones. They came with the BBQ pork, 17💰 per portion, and 14💰 without. It's perfectly acceptable as a meal, and I was really full afterward. The sweet pancakes, with egg yolk and BBQ pork, are perfect for dessert. They're also delicious, but a little sticky. 13💰 4⃣️ Old Flavor Beef Brisket Shop This shop is in the city, near the Atour Hotel. I originally wanted to try Pinqing Beef Brisket, but it was closed too late. I found this nearby Beef Brisket Hotpot. Since I don't eat offal, I had a pure beef brisket hotpot. It was delicious, but it got too greasy after a while. I added a side of hand-made beef balls, which were very refreshing. This one didn't disappoint either. Last night, as soon as the rain stopped, I ran out to buy some of my saved popcorn. I thought I'd just try something I'd thrown away, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was delicious! Even better than what I had at the hotel. What a surprise! I couldn't wait to share it! 👉 Here in Shanwei, they call it a popcorn pancake. It's actually pretty similar to popcorn pancakes, the only difference being the crust. The popcorn pancake's crust is soft, chewy, and firm. The fillings are quite varied, and each shop has its own unique flavor profile. Their shop offers two options: sweet and savory. I chose the savory pancake. I didn't get a clear look at the ingredients, and I didn't take a good photo. Wow, I'm done! 😅 I'm aware of the ingredients: salted egg yolk, barbecued pork, chopped peanuts, chopped black sesame seeds, and another one I couldn't figure out after eating. Besides the popcorn pancakes, they also sell a variety of loose snacks, packaged in bags.
