🌟 Tumote Left Banner: Tranquility and Poetry in the Great Wall 🌄 Hasu Lake, known as the "West Lake of the Great Wall," lies 70 kilometers west of Hohhot. Anciently known as "Huhe Nur," this stretch of water means "blue lake." Standing by the lake, you'll discover its tranquility and poetry rivaling even the water towns of the Yangtze River Delta. Open year-round, Hasu Lake resembles a mirror embedded in the grasslands, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds. 🏞️The Legend of Hasu Lake Legend has it that long ago, this area was a drought-stricken grassland. A kind-hearted shepherdess, determined to save her dying flock, prayed day and night to the Eternal Heaven. Her sincerity moved the gods, who sent a white deer to guide her to an underground spring, ultimately forming this beautiful lake. To this day, local herders still tie colorful hadas (Hada) around the lake to pray for blessings. 🍖The Homely Atmosphere of Xiaosu Farmhouse After visiting Hasu Lake, head 280 meters southeast along County Road 026 and you'll find Xiaosu Farmhouse around the corner. Their roasted whole lamb exudes the grandeur of the grasslands, while their hand-pulled pork is imbued with the rustic simplicity of the nomadic people. Sitting in a yurt, sipping milk tea, I could almost hear the melodious sound of the horse-head fiddle in the distance. The owner explained that the lambs used are all from nearby nomadic families, resulting in tender, fresh meat without any muttony. 🌿The Faith and Culture of Aobao Park Drive onto the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway, and not far away lies the mysterious Aobao Park. The Aobao, a sacred stone structure, is an important symbol of Mongolian faith. Locals told me that circling it three times clockwise brings good luck. Every year on the 13th day of the fifth lunar month, a grand Aobao worship ceremony is held here, a spectacular spectacle. Standing before the Aobao, I could feel the power of this millennia-old faith. The poetic sentiment of "vast skies, boundless wilderness" is perfectly captured in Tumote Left Banner. Here, grasslands, lakes, and human culture interweave to create a unique landscape beyond the Great Wall. #GrasslandScenery #SpecialFood #EthnicCustoms #Self-DrivingTour #InnerMongoliaTravel
