Pizza was decent and the portion size was fair for the price. Service got a bit slow when it filled up, but the staff stayed friendly.

Stopped by for a cheese board and a glass of wine. Selection was solid, though the goat cheese wasn't for me. Paying upfront with a tip screen before I even got anything felt a bit off.

Full Irish breakfast did the job - solid portion, decent price for what you get. Staff were quick and didn't fuss around. Handy spot if you're passing through and need something filling before heading off. No complaints really.

I had a fantastic brunch at Balfes! The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff were welcoming and made us feel right at home.

Right next to the station, so it's handy. Bangers and mash were solid, service was quick enough. Decent spot for a pint and something filling before a train.

Came for the Sunday roast and the beef was spot on, really tender. Roasties had that proper crunch I look for. Portion size felt fair for the price. Place was buzzing with the match on, so not the quietest, but that's part of the vibe here. Left full and content.

Stopped in for lunch and grabbed a seat at the bar. The curry chicken was lovely, really hit the spot. Caesar salad was fresh too, not overdressed. Place still has that proper old-school pub feel, which I appreciate. Service was friendly enough, didn't have to wait long for anything. Nice spot if you just want an easy meal without fuss.

Stopped in for a pint last week—Guinness was properly poured, creamy as it should be. Bartender had a bit of chat, made the place feel friendly. Sunny out front was a bonus for watching the street go by.

Big spot for a work Christmas do. Ground floor had a decent buzz and the music was good. Bar service was painfully slow though, took ages to get a round in.

Stopped in around 4pm and it was quiet enough to get a seat by the window. Staff were friendly and knew their whiskey history, which was nice. Had a decent pour of something local, nothing fancy but it hit the spot. Place has that proper old pub feel, a bit worn but in a good way. Fine spot if you're after a low-key afternoon pint.

The outdoor seating's lovely for a quiet evening. Turkish coffee hit the spot.

Stopped in for dinner off-season—fire was going, pub felt cosy. Steak was solid, and the price beat most spots around.

Solid pint of Guinness before heading to the Aviva — that's the main reason to stop in. It gets pretty packed on match days, but the staff are quick enough that you're not waiting ages. Seating's a bit tight once it fills up, but for a quick one it does the job.

The lamb stew was the standout — tender, rich broth, proper Irish seasoning. Portion came up a bit small for what they charge, though. I'd have happily paid the same for a bigger bowl. That's the only gripe. The flavour itself did the job.

Buttermilk chicken burger was spot on—hot, crispy fries too. Bartender sorted me out quick. Worth the walk from the centre.

Booked a table for 14 with drinks and platters. João sorted everything out so easily. Honestly, the whole group was happy with how it went. Good spot if you're organising something bigger.

Nice spot for a quiet drink. The staff were friendly and we grabbed a seat outside without any hassle. Live music was a nice bonus too.

Stopped in on a whim and ended up chatting with the owner for a bit. He really looks after you if you're flying solo. Back room is small but proper cozy. Had the lamb stew, decent portion for the price. Nothing fancy, but you leave feeling looked after.

Came for a show at the Viking Theatre upstairs—small and intimate, really nice for that. Had a quick pint at the bar before, decent spot for it.
