The new owners have done a lovely job with the refurbishment. It's a comfortable spot now, with a nice buzz from the music and sports. My only small note is that the seating felt a bit close together. Still, a pleasant place for a relaxed drink.

They squeezed us in last minute, a big group. Staff were so friendly and professional, didn't feel rushed at all. The food was fabulous too.

Massaman curry was spot on, really good. But the portion size for the satay felt a bit small for the price. Still, the curry alone made it worthwhile.

The chips were honestly the star of the night! Perfectly crispy outside, fluffy inside. We ended up ordering a second bowl to share while catching up with friends. The pub itself has a nice, relaxed feel for a group hangout.

Rebecca was so lovely! She checked in just the right amount and made our girls' night feel really relaxed.

Loved the historic building. The vibe inside was surprisingly relaxed, not stuffy at all.

Booked a table for a big birthday do. The food came out quick and was cooked just right. Lauren, Meg, and Yvie at the bar were lovely, really friendly service. Made the whole thing easy.

Claire was so attentive, really made our Sunday lunch feel like a celebration. The roast was good, but honestly, it was her service that stood out.

Leffe on tap was a nice surprise, and it tasted properly kept. The beer selection overall is better than a lot of pubs. Sat on the patio in the evening, and the lighting was just right.

Prices are a bit steep for the neighbourhood, but you're definitely paying for that location. Sat outside for a drink at sunset—the view over the water was stunning. A crisp white wine was the perfect pairing. Makes the bill easier to swallow.

The team was super helpful when I emailed about the private hire space. They even showed me around a few times before the event.

A nice spot near the station, good for families. The food's lovely all day. I like the main dining room, it's got a cosy feel with the wood and those big windows.

Love the vibe in the cellar bar! It's got these low ceilings and cosy little rooms, perfect for catching up with mates. The real ale from the barrel is a nice touch. Just be ready for it to get a bit loud when it's busy.

Hadn't been out in ages. The steak was cooked just right, and the staff were brilliant. The real treat was the sommelier's suggestion for a red to go with it—spot on. Made the whole evening.

The Great Hall is a stunner. You can feel the history in the room. Had the steak and ale pie in there - proper comfort food, the pastry was spot on. A nice, relaxed spot for a proper meal.

Popped in for a Sunday roast after a walk. The beef was spot on, really tender, and the Yorkshire pudding was perfect. Sat outside by the water, just a nice, relaxed vibe.

Been here for karaoke nights a few times. It's a fun spot if you're up for singing. The vibe is always lively.

One of our party had dry Turkey and i noticed it was the last cutting of left on the meat, She should have taken it back and got some of the new Turkey which came out after.Other than that everything else food wise was good and we all enjoyed. We will book again for a lunch time meal!John.

Love the historic building, so much character! The steep stairs are a bit tricky, but it's part of the charm. Perfect for a quirky catch-up with friends.

The Red Lion offers an exceptional dining experience with attentive service from staff like Jack and Gracie, making every visit memorable.

Solid carvery for a quick lunch. The roast beef was spot on today, still juicy and hot. Good selection of veg and gravy. Got in and out in under 30 mins. Just what you need.

Fantastic food and great service. Highly recommend a visit. Can't believe how good it was. Can't fault them at all. Top marks all around.

Nice local. The vegan options are a real plus - had the jackfruit burger last night and it was spot on. Staff are always friendly, quiz night's a laugh. Food's generally reliable, just wish the portions were a bit bigger for the price.

I often used the Fox as a staging post between Essex and Hampshire. Now I live in Cambridgeshire, it was a perfect stop on the way to Heathrow! We were a party of four; the atmosphere is still as lovely ; the food exceptional; the service warm and attentive. Each member of my family party enjoyed it greatly, sending my street cred soaring for my knowledge of good places to dine!It is a lovely place which I am greatly pleased to know!

Loved the roof terrace! Perfect for a sunny afternoon. The vibe up there is so relaxed, and they have a decent range of non-alcoholic drinks which was great for me. A really nice spot to just hang out.

Staff were so kind to squeeze us in on a busy Sunday. The roast was a proper hearty portion for the price. But the best bit was the whole vibe - the lighting was just right, not too bright, and the wooden tables felt really solid. Made for a relaxed, cosy lunch.

The beer garden is a lovely, quiet spot for a summer drink. A nice change from the busier places around.

Popped in for a Sunday roast. The beef was spot on, really tender. Nice vibe with the music in the background. A solid, cosy way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Stopped in for a late lunch. The lobster was spot on, not overcooked at all. Fries were classic and crispy. Simple, but really hit the spot. Just a solid, satisfying meal.
