Excellent pub, obviously loved by the locals who booked it out - so make sure you have a reservation. 6.30 seems to be when they all flock in. Our table was for 7pm so we ended up having a bit of a wait and to make an alternative choice for mains as ours was sold out. Well kept cellar - excellent beers and plenty of cocktails available. Will return when next in York

Just a short walk from the station. Popped in for a late lunch and a pint. The steak and ale pie was solid, but the real winner was the local bitter they recommended to go with it. Made for a proper, no-fuss meal. The place has that classic, worn-in feel you want from a good pub.

Great cocktails, decent price. Staff were really friendly too.

Decent spot for a quick lunch. Plenty of space inside, wasn't crowded at all. Noticed a small play area for kids too, handy if you're with little ones. Food came out fast, which is what I needed.

Had a decent group dinner here with 12 people. The lamb was pretty good, just as we'd hoped. Service was efficient and they handled our large table fine, though it did get a bit loud in our corner.

The staff were really lovely. Connie, Tyler and Georgia were all so polite and helpful. Tyler even pointed out where to find the cutlery and napkins, which made everything feel very easy and relaxed. A very comfortable spot.

The pool table was a fun surprise, you don't see that much anymore. It was a nice way to pass a little time while waiting for our food. The whole place just felt really relaxed and easygoing.

The fish and chips were spot on. But honestly, what stood out was the bar area itself. It had this lovely, relaxed vibe with really comfortable stools. Just a nice place to unwind and enjoy a pint with your meal.

A nice place to bring the dog. I appreciate that they use fresh, local ingredients in their pub classics. The fish and chips were light and not greasy, which is a plus. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional, perfect for a relaxed chat.

Booked for a big group birthday (18 of us!) with a pre-order. Everything came out so fast, which was perfect when you're trying to catch up with everyone. Luke at the bar was a legend, kept the whole table laughing. Made the night easy.

Been coming here for years, and the bottomless brunch is consistently spot on. Service is always quick, never feel rushed.

The new landlord has made such a difference here. It finally feels like a proper local pub again. I love the warm, inviting atmosphere now - had a really nice, relaxed evening with a fresh, well-prepared burger.

The bottomless brunch is such a solid deal. My mimosas were topped up before my glass was even half empty! The truffle fries were the real star for me, perfectly crispy.

Lovely old building, really well kept. Plenty of space inside and out, which is nice. We sat in the garden area, very peaceful for a weekday lunch. The food was fine, but honestly, the setting is the main draw here.

Decent cheesecake but the jerk chicken and ribs were a letdown. The Thursday freebie is a nice touch though.

Nice local pub, recently refurbished so feels fresh. Good selection of beers and lagers, all fairly priced. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Stopped in for a quick pint after work, it's conveniently located. Did the job.

Been coming here for years, always get the Sunday roast. The pork is consistently spot on, and that crackling is just right every time. The sticky toffee pudding is my go-to finish. It's the reliability that keeps me coming back.

The staff here are so helpful. I ordered the wrong thing by mistake, and when I mentioned it, they just brought out what I actually wanted, no extra charge or hassle. Really nice of them.

The drinks are great, but I was really impressed by the bar snacks. The chorizo and cheddar doughballs were a decent size for sharing and tasted proper. Good value for what you get.

The Kyoto Cluck-Cluck bao was the star for me. The steamed bun was so soft and fluffy, and the chicken inside was just the right kind of juicy. Really enjoyed the whole vibe of the place while eating it.

Came by for a drink. The Old Fashioned was spot on, one of the best I've had. Strawberry daiquiri was good too. Just a solid place for a cocktail.

Popped in for a quiet pint after work. The atmosphere is just right for that - never feels too loud or empty. It's a proper Leeds pub, you can see why it's been around so long. The bitter was spot on, served at the perfect temperature.

Grabbed lunch here with a few mates. The lunch menu is a solid deal for this part of town. Food was tasty, we all left happy and not broke. Good spot for a casual catch-up.

Great food, and staff, big mention to Adrian and John both of whom were very helpful and attentive. All meals were beautifully presented and great quality. Well worth a visit.

Nice walk along the stream. The view from the top is the best part. Some sections are quite steep and the path is a bit rocky, so wear proper shoes. Good for a local stroll.

Hugo Spritz was a great choice for a quick bite. Staff suggested it, spot on. Refreshing, hit the spot. Good wine list too. Quick service, in and out.

The ribs were huge, honestly bigger than I expected for the price. We shared a few tapas plates and still had leftovers to take home. Portion sizes are definitely generous here, which is a nice change.
