The cheesesteak was solid, but honestly, the vibe is what stuck with me. The layout and decor just feel right&mdash;clean, simple, not trying too hard. It&rsquo;s a comfortable spot to grab a bite.

We went to Ennis Cotton Patch last Friday.   Because we live more than 20 miles from Ennis, we called to make sure the restaurant was open before leaving.  We were told the dining room was open.  We came mid-afternoon to miss the Friday evening rush hour.  There were a few customers there and we were seated when we arrived.  We waited 20 minutes with no service.  During this time the other customers finished their meals and left.  Finally, a girl came to our table and asked us if someone had given us water.  We told her no and then she said, &ldquo;We&rsquo;re closed.&rdquo;  No explanation or apology was given so we left.  We are VERY dissatisfied.

The Rollatino, chicken stuffed with Italian sausage. The chicken itself was cooked just right, not dry at all. The sausage filling had a nice fennel and herb flavor that went really well with the chicken. Solid dish.

The chicken salad. That&#39;s the thing here. The chicken was moist, the dressing had a nice tang, and the greens were crisp. The hummus was smooth, a good side. My kid ate all his chicken and fries, which says something.

The service at this restaurant is outstanding. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Stopped here on a road trip off I-35. The interior is so cozy and rustic, with warm lighting and exposed brick. It was a nice, quiet spot to unwind for a bit. Got the fettuccine alfredo, which was solid.
