The food was delicious and the staff provided great service. We were not keen on the new sections where we were sat. It is too high and you feel too shut off from the rest of the restaurant.

Bringing your own bottle really made the difference for me. It kept the bill down, and the food was genuinely top-notch. A solid find for a casual dinner.

The menu has some nice options for kids, which made it easy for us to choose. The seating was comfortable too.

Came here for a birthday meal. The set menu was decent for two courses. The staff were really lovely and attentive, which made the evening so relaxed. A nice, comfortable spot.

The mac 'n' cheese portion was huge, honestly could have shared it. The BBQ burger was tasty too. Good for a filling meal without breaking the bank.

Lovely staff, they actually took a moment for a proper chat which made our girls' night feel more relaxed. The chicken madras and coconut naan were spot on. Good French wine list too.

Lovely spot for a catch-up after a riverside stroll! Went for the set lunch, which was super tasty and such good value. The staff were so friendly, really made it feel like a proper treat. Great wine list too.

Loved the creative menu. The scallop starter was a real surprise, and they paced the courses just right.

Bruna was lovely. That Biscoff cheesecake though... it's the reason you come here. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet. Just a really great slice of cake.

The staff were super efficient and friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable Icing on the cake? The meal in the restaurant was superb, compliments to the chef. We would definitely come again.

The staff were so warm and kind. George especially made sure we were looked after. It was a really nice Valentine's evening.

Really liked the cosy vibe here, felt like a proper neighbourhood spot. Staff were friendly without being over the top.

Busy spot, especially on weekends. Had to wait a bit for a table and it was pretty loud inside. Service was okay, but they seemed a bit stretched when the rush hit.

Kin was a great server, really attentive. The food was good but the portions felt a bit small for the price.

Nice quick lunch spot. The owner suggested the special, and it was spot on. Fresh, tasty, and ready fast. The big fish tank is a nice touch for a relaxed bite. Solid choice for a workday break.

Good vibe for a group. Staff were on it, but not in your face. Got the noise level just right for a proper catch-up. Solid spot.

Lovely traditional pub feel, perfect for a cosy evening. The staff were super friendly to us and our dogs.

Came in late on NYE. Staff were still super welcoming. Saw them helping someone who was unwell outside. Really decent of them. Food was good too.

We booked a pre-concert dinner for 20. Lisa and her team were great. Everything arrived on time and perfectly coordinated, which really helped our large group relax before the show. A smooth experience.

The food was very good, however waiting for drinks did take quite a while. as they were so busy. The cask ale was cloudy and at the end of the barrel and they did not have any other Ales at all, which was disappointing. This may have been a supply issue!

Came from Basildon with friends. The spring rolls are still made by hand here, which is nice. It's always buzzing, perfect for a casual catch-up.

Sea bass with saffron potatoes. That was the one. Cooked just right. Everything else was fine, but that dish made the evening.

Been coming here for years. Their signature stew is just as good as it was the first time. That's what keeps me coming back.

The stew was a decent size for the price. My wife's chicken portion was a bit smaller than expected though.

Loved the vibe here! Perfect for catching up with friends. The food is really good and didn't break the bank. Our server was so nice. Upstairs seating is a bit dated, but we still had a great time.

Decent spot for authentic food. The chicken feet were a bit bland, but everything else was pretty good.

The food was a lovely surprise. My pasta came out steaming hot, just how I like it. The menu had some really thoughtful options. Staff were polite and checked in without hovering.

Lavinia was so helpful and got us a discount. Pizza was huge, perfect for a quick lunch.

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday meal at the Harvester in Stanway, Colchester, Essex. The effort and willingness expressed by out waitress (Laura) was worthy of high praise. This employee worked tirelessly in make the evening a huge success.Thank you,Bill

As with any Buffett type restaurant there are good and bad things. But that said you know what you’re signing up for when you go there. So queuing for your dinner is a given. The staff were lovely, food hot and plentiful and had a money off coupon too plus earned Yums - all in all a good night.
