We had the greatest meal and dining experience here on our last night in Groningen. Our food was terrific and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend!

The place looks great inside, staff were friendly enough. But honestly the food was kinda bland. Presentation was nice though, just didn't match the taste. Prices are fair for the area. Maybe they're going for subtle flavors, just not my thing. I'd come back for a drink maybe, not sure about a full meal.

The vegan burger was solid, and they paired it nicely with a good red. Service was friendly, though the place got a bit loud later on.

The fish was good but honestly the curry coleslaw stole the show. Portions are generous and you get plenty of sides, so the price feels fair. We booked one of the tents which was fun, though the bar area seemed more lively. Service was attentive without hovering—they checked in just enough. Would come back for that slaw alone.

Amazing ambience, very gezellig and cosy places to sit. Food was good, portions of some dishes on the smaller side but still a good price-quality level. Highly recommend!

We stopped by for lunch and I got the 12-uurtje. The hot chocolate was properly rich, not too sweet. The food was decent, though I did find the portion a bit on the small side for the price. But the ingredients tasted fresh, which I always appreciate. Staff was friendly enough, came by to check on us a couple of times.

The beer list is solid and the place has that proper old-school brown café feel. Had the shrimp croquettes with an espresso — both did the job. Staff left us alone until we needed them, which I appreciated. Only thing is the seating near the window is a bit cramped, but fine for a quick stop.

The croissants are always warm and really good. Just a heads up, the big cappuccino comes in a latte glass and tastes more like plain coffee. Still, I left happy.

The nachos are still my go-to here. 13.5 bucks and a solid pile of them every time. Staff's been on point lately too.

The Turkish eggs were seriously good. That garlic yogurt with the runny yolk just worked. I kept dipping bread in it until nothing was left. Place was a bit busy but whatever. Would come back just for that dish.

The steak was cooked exactly how I asked. New Year's Eve menu had solid burgers too. Online menu in multiple languages saved me some hassle.

The lunch deal here is solid for the price—savory and sweet bites plus a smoothie and coffee. Everything tasted fresh. I paired mine with a glass of their house red, which worked nicely with the sweeter dishes. Only downside: the wait. It got pretty busy around noon, so come early if you're in a hurry.

Been coming here for a while now. Jeffery still remembers my usual order, that’s why I keep coming back. Beer suggestion was on point again, not too heavy for a Tuesday night. Place gets busy but he handles it fine. Just wish they’d open the back windows when it’s warm, gets a bit stuffy.

Food's decent but prices are a bit steep for what you get. The terrace is nice though, good spot when the weather cooperates.

Wonderful restaurant!!! The chef's menu is superb...can chose between 2-5 courses. We had 3 courses...next time I will opt for 5 courses. Everything is prepared and presented with great care and attention to detail. Brilliant flavours!! The service is IMPECCABLE!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Our server made us feel that we were the only one's in the restaurant...even though it was quite busy. Very friendly, attentive, and happy. Thank you for the wonderful service!!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is so very warm, cozy, and elegant. Always come to Basserie SPH when visiting, and never disappointed. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a nice evening!!

The lunch set at XO is a nice twist on the usual 12-uurtje—Tom kha kai soup, Caesar salad, and a small burger were all fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly.

The ambient was really well decorated and the food was delicious. Prices were also really good for what we got, so I was very happy with that. I did with the QR Code menu had more information about the food though. But I found the information on the regular menu though, so that was not a problem. Overall experience was great, highly recommend it.

The restaurant is very cosy, the food is great, with very good presentation and taste! The staff is very kind and attentive. We highly recommend it!

Good tapas selection, authentic Spanish flavors. Service was attentive without hovering. Decent spot for a quick business lunch.

Coffee’s solid here—proper Lavazza, which I appreciate. Easy to find in the center, decent spot for a slow morning. Would’ve liked a bigger cup though.

Came here on a quiet Tuesday night. Beer was solid, place wasn't too busy so we could actually talk without shouting. Service was quick enough. Nothing fancy but it does the job for a casual drink. Prices are fair for the area. Probably stick to this spot when I don't feel like going far.

Food quality’s definitely improved—flavors were solid. Staff friendly enough. Decent pick for Mexican in Groningen.

Came here for dinner last week. Service was friendly, and the place feels cozy inside. We ordered a few small plates to share—pretty good, especially the ones with seafood. The canal view is a nice touch, though it gets a bit busy around 8. Prices are fair for what you get. Decent spot if you're in the area.

The duck decor around the bar is really cute, fits the place well. Had the pork tenderloin skewer with fries, pretty tasty. Red cabbage was a bit too sweet for me though.

The cozy decor and friendly staff create a welcoming environment. I enjoyed a lovely meal here, and the atmosphere was just right for a relaxing evening.

Service was friendly even though the place was packed. Fries came out hot and crispy, exactly how they should be. Tried the curry ketchup, bit too sweet for my taste. Stuck with the regular mayo instead, that worked better. Solid spot if you're in the area and want a quick bite without fuss.

The vegan yogurt with berries was the highlight — simple and fresh. Nice relaxed spot inside, though the staff seemed a bit rushed. A glass of wine would've paired well with it.

The brownie and avocado toast were really good, coffee too. Service was a bit slow but the vibe is nice enough that I didn't mind waiting.

Nice terrace for brunch, sunny side of the street. They sorted our dietary stuff without fuss. Basque cheesecake was the highlight though.
