Good choice of food, pleasant chatty staff, food was hit lively, view amazing. Reasonably priced. Wound line to have a little piece if shortbread or a nibble when having coffee or tea even if we have to pay for it. Only let down was that!!

The whisky flight was a nice way to try a few things. Bartender knew his stuff, explained each pour without being pushy. Made it easy to pick a favourite.

Came here with a few mates for a casual catch-up. The fish and chips were spot on - crispy outside, flaky inside. But the real winner was the fried broccoli, honestly didn't expect to like it that much! Good spot for a relaxed group meal.

I had a wonderful Sunday Roast here, especially enjoyed the Roasted Lamb Leg and Turkey. The atmosphere felt like home, perfect for casual dining.

The food at Melville Inn is simply amazing! I had the Pie of the Day, and it was beautifully cooked and well presented. Definitely a place to return to!

The fish and chips were the main thing. The batter had that proper crisp, not greasy at all. Good size portion of fish, chips were decent. Exactly what you want after being out all day.

Shared the chicken nachos at the bar. Great for nibbling with a drink while you chat. The bar staff were really nice too.

Loved the vibe in these historic cellars. Found a little private nook that was perfect for a quiet drink with a friend. Just a heads up, the doorway is quite low - my tall mate nearly bumped his head!

A nice old pub, feels like stepping back in time. Had a quiet drink here, which was pleasant. The atmosphere is cozy and the building itself is lovely. It’s a decent spot for that.

The food at The Voodoo Rooms is absolutely tremendous, complemented by friendly and prompt service. It's a great place to enjoy a meal and unwind.

The Balmoral pheasant Sunday roast was a proper feast, so much meat! 🍗 They were really nice about moving us to a cosier booth when we asked.

The hot chocolate was the real deal. Thick, not too sweet, with a proper dark chocolate flavour that coats the spoon. It’s what I come for. The homemade brownie on the side was decent, a bit dense for my taste, but the chocolate intensity matched the drink well.

Very comfortable surroundings, staff pleasant and happy to help. Nothing was a bother for them despite being busy.Food was well presented and lovely. Very reasonable prices despite being in Edinburgh

Love how tucked away this place is. The classic menu hits the spot, and the drinks are solid. It’s got that proper local feel, not overrun with visitors. Just a nice, relaxed vibe for a quiet pint.

Loved the tucked-away feel here. The venison bourguignon was rich and tender, really hit the spot on a chilly evening. The low lighting and wooden tables gave it such a warm, intimate vibe.

The lamb shank was the standout. Slow-cooked for hours, the meat fell off the bone effortlessly. Rich, deep gravy with a hint of rosemary. A proper, hearty dish. A bit pricey, but you can taste the effort.

Haggis bon-bons were spot on - crispy outside and that honey mustard dip really works. The burger patty was a touch dry for me, though.

A relaxed spot, nice for a quiet lunch. The staff were very friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The kids' play area is a thoughtful touch, letting you actually enjoy your meal.

The staff were so lovely about my friend's gluten-free request. They even let us bring my pup inside, which was a huge plus for our little group. The food came in really generous portions too - we all left stuffed!

Andrew was so nice and attentive. Really made the whole meal feel relaxed. Service like that is a rare find these days.

Been here a few times now. It's the historic setting that keeps me coming back - feels like a proper bit of St. Andrews.

Came here on a Friday for the live music. The band was really good, just the right volume for a chat over dinner. Made the whole evening feel a bit more special.

The monk fish was excellent, and the sommelier’s wine pairing suggestion really complemented it. Service was smooth, no waiting around.

Gets packed on weekends, but the drinks are reasonably priced. Sat outside when it was sunny, which was nice.

Lovely little wine bar, perfect for a catch-up with friends. The staff really know their stuff - they suggested a wine that went so well with the pasta we brought in. Made the whole evening feel relaxed and easy.

A solid, classic pub. The fish and chips were pretty good – nice crispy batter. Plenty of seating downstairs, which is handy. Staff were friendly enough. A decent spot for a casual meal.

Service was really friendly and they were happy to help. The undercover beer garden is a nice spot. Had a pint of the Greene King Hazy Days, which was lovely. A comfortable place to settle in for a while.

Managed to squeeze in a birthday bash for 17 of us, kids and all. The tables were pushed together just right, didn't feel cramped at all. Staff were super chill about the whole thing.

Great vibe with karaoke and pool. Drinks are a decent price, especially with the student discount. Lewis at the bar was really helpful.
