The bartenders really knew their Irish whiskey and took time to figure out what I&#39;d like. Nice spot for a quiet pint, though the seating near the window is a bit cramped.

The seafood chowder here is seriously good&mdash;light broth, loads of seafood. Had it twice on my Dublin trip and it didn&#39;t disappoint either time.

Came for the chateaubriand on the Monday/Tuesday deal. &euro;70 for two with sides and sauces is fair enough. Beef dripping chips were spot on, b&eacute;arnaise had good flavour. Service was efficient, no hanging around. Place was busy but we got seated straight away. Solid if you&#39;re after a decent steak without the fuss.

Solid Sunday roast. Pork belly was spot on, crackling proper crispy. They even did a little cake thing for my birthday, nice touch. Staff were sound, looked after us without hovering. Bit busy but that&#39;s expected. Reckon I&#39;d go back for the beef next time.

The old woodwork and historic details are worth a look for sure. Irish stew had a proper rich sauce, probably the best I tried while I was over.

Pizza was decent and the portion size was fair for the price. Service got a bit slow when it filled up, but the staff stayed friendly.

Came for the Sunday roast and the beef was spot on, really tender. Roasties had that proper crunch I look for. Portion size felt fair for the price. Place was buzzing with the match on, so not the quietest, but that&#39;s part of the vibe here. Left full and content.
