The scrambled eggs were just right, not dry at all. I asked if I could have a smaller portion and the server was so nice about it, checked with the kitchen straight away. Made ordering really easy for me.

The scrambled eggs here are done just right, with that soft, runny yolk. It's a simple dish but they've nailed it. Portion was decent for the price, felt like a proper breakfast without breaking the bank.

Popped in after shopping. Been a few times now, always find the staff friendly and professional. They remembered to ask about allergies again, which I appreciate.

Lovely spot with a view of the monument. The outdoor seating is clean and they're dog-friendly, which is a nice touch. Just a bit breezy out there today.

Blueberry pancakes were a solid choice. Fluffy, moist, and loaded with berries. Got them during a busy lunch hour, and they came out surprisingly quick. Perfect for a fast, satisfying bite.

Owner is so lovely, had a proper chat with us while we waited for our food. Made it feel like a catch-up at a friend's place, not just a meal out. The vibe is perfect for a chilled evening with mates.

The Angus lasagna is the star here. So rich and perfectly layered. Service in the cosy dining room was spot-on, attentive without being fussy. A lovely, quiet lunch.

The Biscoff French toast was spot on, not too sweet. Paired nicely with a black coffee to cut through the richness.

Been coming here for years, and the apple tart's always spot on. Crispy pastry, loads of filling, and they never overdo the spices.

The Scottish Breakfast was spot on. The black pudding had a nice crisp to it, and the tattie scone was perfect for mopping up the yolk. A solid start to the day. Will definitely be back for that.

Decent student discount. The sourdough toast was good, but the muffin portion felt a bit small for the price.

If I lived in Old Town, I'd be a regular. Just had the Scottish Full Breakfast with a cappuccino. Spot on. Staff were quick and friendly, no fuss. Exactly what you want in the morning.

Andrii provided attentive service throughout our business lunch. The set menu offered solid value for money. Food was well-prepared and arrived promptly. A reliable spot for a working meal.

Came here for an early breakfast. The scrambled eggs were really good, nice and fluffy on decent toast. Coffee was fine too. It's a quiet, snug little spot. A solid choice for a simple morning meal.

Just a simple, honest cafe. The breakfast was spot on - felt like a proper home-cooked meal, left me full but not stuffed. Staff were nice, prices fair. Exactly what I needed.

Finally found a proper tablet in Edinburgh! The owner was so lovely, made the whole visit feel warm. Price was very reasonable too, which was a nice surprise.

A nice spot for families. The kids' platter was a big hit with ours, and the staff were friendly and efficient even on a busy Saturday. It's good to find a place that's so welcoming to dogs, too.

The lemon drizzle cake is the star here. Moist, sharp icing, not too sweet. Honestly, I'd go back just for that slice. The rest of the menu looks solid, but that cake is the one.

Been coming here for years for a quiet breakfast. The coffee's always spot on, a proper strong brew. That's what keeps me coming back. The space is nice and calm, good for reading the paper.

Been coming here for years, and the coffee is always spot on. That's what keeps me coming back. The space is nice and the art is cool, but honestly, I'm just here for a reliably good flat white. It's my go-to spot when I need to just sit and think for a bit.

Popped in for a Nutella hot chocolate. It was nice, but I did notice it was quite sweet. I appreciate when places use good quality ingredients, so I'd be curious to know what kind of chocolate they use. The staff were very friendly.

The croissants here are a solid choice for a quick breakfast. They're flaky and not overly sweet, which I appreciate. The coffee is okay, but I really wish they offered a non-dairy milk option. It's a simple, affordable spot.

Stopped by this cafe in the garden for a coffee after visiting the castle. The vibe is definitely chill, which I liked. But the coffee itself was just okay. For the price they're charging, I was expecting something a bit better. It's fine for the location, but not a standout.

Student discount is a nice touch, makes it a go-to for a quick coffee with friends. Prices are definitely better than other spots nearby. We grabbed lattes and just hung out for a bit. Good for a casual catch-up.

The soy latte was really good, creamy and not too sweet. Sat there for a while just enjoying it with that view of the castle. The staff were nice, but honestly, I just remember the coffee.

The smoked salmon and cream cheese was delicious, and I really appreciated how fresh the ingredients tasted. A lovely spot for a light lunch.

The Croque Madame was spot on, and the staff kept their cool (and good humour) during our big group breakfast. A nice glass of crisp white would have been the perfect pairing.

A lovely spot for brunch. I really appreciated the gluten-free options. The poached eggs three ways were fresh and well-prepared, the eggs tasted like they were from a good source. The coffee was a highlight, robust and smooth. Staff were friendly and genuine.

The pork ragu was fantastic, but the real draw is the daily changing menu. Keeps things interesting.
