空空CJWhen eating at Ippudo, you will be seated directly. I like that there are condiments on the table here, which you can add to your bowl. The ramen is very delicious, the signature tonkotsu ramen has a rich soup, the number of grilled meat slices is not large but the taste is delicious, and it is economical overall.

I eat it often in Shanghai. It seems to be a little more expensive in Japan. The barbecued pork is delicious, and the half-boiled eggs are very good. It's just that there is often a queue in Ginza, which can take up to half an hour.
Ippudo Ramen has many branches in Japan. I ate it in Ginza today and felt that the taste was just so-so, not much different from other places. After all, it is a chain store with only two varieties.
Ippudo has several branches in Tokyo, mostly in commercial areas. Compared to its Chinese counterparts, it's just an ordinary ramen restaurant. Ippudo has a large Japanese following, and locals prefer it to Ichiran Ramen. Their Shiromaru and Akamaru are delicious, with a chewy texture and rich broth. There's usually a line every time I go to Ippudo, proving its popularity.
I live near this restaurant and see long lines every day, so I decided to join in the fun. Since it was late, the wait wasn't too long. Six of us went there and all agreed it was just average. I don't know why it's so popular. The food was bland and the noodles didn't have much character. Honestly, I don't recommend it at all; I don't think you'd need to go there specifically.
We ordered both classic and spicy ramen, and both broths were delicious, with a nice texture for the noodles and a nice topping of bean sprouts. The dumplings were delicious, and my son almost ate the entire plate by himself! Great ramen place with fast service.
Ippudo in New York is great, but Ippudo in Tokyo is not only good but also reasonably priced! If you're looking for delicious food, great service, and a place frequented by locals, this is the place for you! Don't be shy about asking questions or trying different ramen and appetizer combinations! Highly recommended.
My first meal in Tokyo, to be honest, was much worse than the ramen I had in Kyoto—too salty. But the free herbal tea was delicious. I even splurged and ordered stir-fried bean sprouts.
