Came here with a group of friends on a Friday night. The place was buzzing, which was perfect for our vibe. We shared a few small plates and the truffle fries were a hit. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait if you come around 8pm.

The seating area is so relaxing. Comfy chairs, soft lighting, the whole vibe is just right. I only popped in for a quick drink, but I could have stayed for hours. Staff were friendly too.

The Pompei burger had a nice kick to it, and the cheese was spot on. Their house red was a surprisingly good match for it.

Found this cute spot right in the centre. Their lunch specials are so good – tried the Asian-inspired bowl today, the flavours were just spot on. Gets pretty busy though, had to grab a table outside.

Charcuterie board was a solid choice for a quick lunch. Good variety, came out fast. Just what I needed between meetings. Could use a bit more bread though.

I have dietary needs, and they were so accommodating. The gluten-free pizza was delicious and arrived perfectly hot.

The samosas were a real treat. They had that homemade feel, really crispy and full of flavour. Just the right thing to enjoy in their cosy little corner by the window.

The staff were so patient with our large group and all our special requests. Really appreciated how they handled it.

Perfect for a quick lunch. Grabbed a sandwich and coffee. Service was fast and friendly, got me in and out in under 20 mins. Nice, quiet spot to reset during a busy day.

Felt like a little trip to Italy right here in Bedford. The ingredients are all imported, you can really taste it. The pasta was so simple but just spot on. A bit of a wait for a table, but worth it for that flavour.

Came for the carvery, which was decent. But honestly, the portion for the price felt a bit off. My plate wasn't exactly heaping. Friendly staff and the drinks are good, just wish there was a bit more on the plate.

We booked a table of 3 adults and a large labradoodle. They made a big fuss of the dog, which he loved, and made us very welcome. The food was great with a huge choice.

Busy Saturday lunch with the kids. Service was prompt and friendly, which helped a lot. The chicken wings were a hit with them. Portions are generous, good value for the price.

Been here a few times for a lazy brunch. The stonebake pizza is always solid, and it comes out fast. Portion size is decent for the price, which is the main thing for me. Won't break the bank for a casual meal.

The portions are huge for the price. Food quality is solid, especially the lamb curry.

The food felt really authentic. Portions were generous for the price. A solid choice if you're in the mood for Indian.

Came for a business lunch. The pasta was well-executed, simple but good. Service was prompt, which was appreciated given the tight schedule. The location is very convenient for meetings in this area.

Quick lunch at the carvery. Good value, decent food. Staff were friendly, which is nice when you're in a rush. Got my plate sorted fast. Solid option for a quick bite.

Lovely spot by the river, perfect for a sunny lunch. The terrace seating was very comfortable, and watching the swans drift by was so relaxing. Service was friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. A really pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

The spicy king prawns with pasta were fantastic, but the portion was a bit small for the price. The sea bass was cooked perfectly though. Not the biggest value for a main course, but the flavours were spot on.

Popped in for a drink, but the food coming out of the kitchen looked too good to resist. Ended up getting the fish finger sandwich and the mac and cheese. The sandwich was spot on, really hit the spot. Mac and cheese was decent, maybe a bit too rich for me.

Came for the sizzling skillet - the meat and veg were so generous and cooked just right. Really sets this place apart from other pubs in the area. A proper, hearty feed.

First time coming to the dining room for afternoon tea. Staff was very welcoming and food was amazing. I would recommend this place.

The DJ was really nice about our song choices. It got the whole place moving. Perfect vibe for a birthday dance, honestly.

We had been to the windhover before but its got even betterwarm welcome has we entered the door we was seated straight away by the window as requested staff was very good & cheerful meals was exerlent nicely presented & hot sweet also just to say have no doubt about returning great value thank you for a great Anniversary dinner

Vegan options are solid here. Had the dairy-free cheese pizza and plant-based cheesecake. Both were decent, no complaints. Made it straightforward for a business lunch with a colleague who has dietary restrictions.

Been ordering from here for 15+ years. The consistency is the main draw. Pizza always arrives hot, toppings are fresh. It's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. A solid, dependable option for a weeknight dinner.
