The full English was solid, especially the Cumberland sausage - proper flavour. Flat white hit the spot. Service slowed down when they got busy, but that just meant more time to chat with my mates.

The Sunday roast is a decent one. The Yorkshire puddings were good, properly risen and not too doughy. Veg were cooked right, not mushy. It's a reliable classic.

The waitress was absolutely on it, really knew her stuff. Suggested a local ale that went perfectly with the hearty steak pie. Portions are generous, proper pub food. Service like that is a rare treat these days.

The Massaman curry was so comforting, rich and creamy with tender chunks of beef. The green curry had a lovely, fragrant kick to it. Both were spot on. The staff were really sweet and attentive, even on a packed Friday night.

The curry was so good, spicy and tasty. Would definitely go again if we're back in Ambleside.

The grilled fish was spot on, and the wine list had some nice options. Staff were really good at checking in without hovering, which was perfect for catching up with friends. Made for a relaxed evening.

The refillable drinks are a lifesaver for a long catch-up with friends. The cookie s'mores were a great sweet finish too.

Love the vibe in this old building! Came for a drink with mates, and the original features are so cool. Felt like stepping back in time. A really unique spot for a casual catch-up.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge area attached to it was a nice surprise, quite spacious. It was fine for a short stay, though the decor felt a bit dated.

My regular spot in Kendal. The meze dishes are really nice, but I'm always here for the freshly baked borek - it's so good I usually grab an extra one to take away. They've got loads of vegan choices too.

Bottomless brunch was solid. The staff kept the drinks topped up without asking, which was perfect. Menu looks great, will be back to try more.

Modern and clean spot, plus they’re dog-friendly. Got the full menu for takeaway, which was ideal for a quick bite at the beach picnic tables. Simple and convenient.

Good pub food and a nice range of ales. Staff were really helpful squeezing us in when it was packed.

The fish was lovely and fresh. Skin had a nice crisp. I asked for the tagliatelle without the chillies, and the sauce was still warm and flavourful. Appreciated that they could adjust it easily.

Cozy spot, really clean inside. I liked the little details in the ladies' room, like the nice hand soap and fresh flowers. The whole place just feels fresh and looked after.

Tried the tasting menu. Interesting flavours, not your usual fare. Service was prompt and efficient. The decor is quirky, they've kept some of the original features. A solid choice for a business lunch in the area.

The scallops were the star for me - seared just right, with a lovely little herb crust. The Tuesday tapas menu is a solid deal, portions are generous. My cocktail was nice too, a cherry amaretto thing.

Stopped in on a road trip. The salt and pepper ribs were spot on—crispy and full of flavour. The real winner was their house red, a robust Shiraz that cut through the richness perfectly. Service was attentive without being fussy. A very pleasant surprise indeed.

The gluten-free bread here is a nice touch. Not everywhere has it, and it was actually pretty decent. Made ordering a lot easier for me.

Been coming here for years. The fried chicken and chorizo tostada are always spot on. You can taste the fresh ingredients, it's clear they don't cut corners. That's why I keep coming back.

Caught the match here last night. The big screens are perfect for watching, really clear from most seats. It gets quite lively when it's busy, which is fun. A good spot if you want to watch the game with a pint.

Popped in for a quick bite. The staff were really chatty, which was nice. Felt like hanging out at a mate's place more than a proper restaurant. Food was decent, nothing fancy.

The decor here is so inviting, really cosy. Staff handled our big group without a fuss, still found time for a quick chat. Felt relaxed the whole time.

Popped in for a late lunch by the river. The haggis and halloumi bites were a real surprise - really tasty. Just wish there were a few more on the plate for the price.

Modern and comfortable spot. Staff were quick and friendly. Just had a coffee, but it was good. Convenient location for a quick stop. I'll be back.

Portions are huge for what you pay, pretty standard around here. Got the steak and chips, couldn't finish it all. Good value, no question.
