The Sunday roast is a decent one. The Yorkshire puddings were good, properly risen and not too doughy. Veg were cooked right, not mushy. It's a reliable classic.

The curry was so good, spicy and tasty. Would definitely go again if we're back in Ambleside.

The refillable drinks are a lifesaver for a long catch-up with friends. The cookie s'mores were a great sweet finish too.

Stayed for a couple of nights. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge area attached to it was a nice surprise, quite spacious. It was fine for a short stay, though the decor felt a bit dated.

The fish was lovely and fresh. Skin had a nice crisp. I asked for the tagliatelle without the chillies, and the sauce was still warm and flavourful. Appreciated that they could adjust it easily.

Popped in for a quick bite. The staff were really chatty, which was nice. Felt like hanging out at a mate's place more than a proper restaurant. Food was decent, nothing fancy.

Portions are huge for what you pay, pretty standard around here. Got the steak and chips, couldn't finish it all. Good value, no question.

Nice, cosy pub after a long hike. The steak and ale pie was the highlight for me – proper flaky pastry and the beef was really tender. The mash was creamy too. Staff were lovely and quick. Just what we needed.

Been coming here for years. The food's always spot on - simple, but they get the flavours right. It's just a proper, no-fuss local pub.

Service was prompt and attentive. The prawn starter was decent but portion felt a bit small for the price. Mains were generous and well-prepared. Efficient for a business lunch.

Got a table last minute on a busy Saturday, which was appreciated. Staff were efficient and polite. The ribeye was cooked as requested, tender and flavourful. A solid, reliable option for a business dinner in the area.

The Moroccan cauliflower was a real highlight, really nicely spiced. Service was fine and the bill came in a bit under what I'd budgeted, which is always a plus. It does get busy, so booking ahead is a good idea.

Popped in for a quick bite, no booking needed. Had the beef stew—really hearty and filling, just what you want on a damp evening. The place itself is tiny though, tables are a bit close together.

The place is spotless and really accessible. My friend in a wheelchair had no trouble getting around, which was nice.

The steak and ale pie is the real deal here. Proper homemade feel, chunky meat, and they give you a whole jug of gravy on the side. The whole place just has a nice, relaxed vibe.

The afternoon tea is a nice treat. The scones were particularly good, warm and fluffy. The presentation of the savories and sweets was lovely. A pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

A reliable spot for Indian food. The chicken curries are pretty good, with nice big pieces of meat.

Breakfast was spot on, food came out hot and tasty. Perfect for a chilled catch-up with mates before the day gets busy. The vibe is just right for a group.

Been coming here for years, and the thin-crust pizza is the reason. It's always consistent – that perfect crispy base and fresh toppings. Worth the drive every time.

They sorted out a booking mix-up for us with no fuss, even though we called quite late. Really appreciated that. The staff were calm and helpful when it could have been stressful.

The vegan breakfast burrito is a real winner. It's so flavourful and satisfying, a proper meal in itself. The staff were really friendly and attentive, which made the whole visit feel very relaxed.

Been here a few times now. The space just feels right—warm lighting, comfy booths, never feels rushed. It's a nice spot to just be.

Been coming here for years. It's got that worn-in, family-run feel that you just can't fake. The old photos and awards on the walls tell the whole story.
