Stumbled upon this spot on a walk. The cheese and onion pie was really good, and the price was decent.

The lamb was so tender, and the wine pairing suggested by the server really brought out its flavour. The red cabbage side was a standout too.

Service was spot on. Friendly but not hovering, just the right amount of attention. Felt genuinely welcome as soon as we sat down. Made the whole thing relaxed.

Been coming here for years. The biryani is always spot on - fragrant rice, tender meat, the whole deal. It's the one thing I know I can count on every single time. Never lets me down.

Been coming here for years. The food’s always solid, and I like that you can tell them how spicy you want it. Portions are decent for the money. It’s a quiet spot, good for a relaxed dinner.

The pepperoni and garlic chicken slices are pretty good. They're a solid choice for a quick lunch, honestly better than some pizzas I've had at proper restaurants. Decent value for the price.

First time trying shatkora lamb here, and it was spot on. The meat was so tender and fell right off the bone. Really enjoyed that unique, slightly bitter citrus flavour from the shatkora. A proper taste of something different.

Been coming here for years, and Nina always remembers my usual order. That kind of consistent, friendly service is what keeps me coming back.

Came by for a quick lunch. The haddock was fried just right, batter was light and not oily. Chips were crispy and the portion was decent. Hit the spot.

The carbonara had a lovely, rich flavour. I was pleased to see they used a good quality pancetta and the egg yolk was perfectly fresh. My partner really enjoyed it. The portion was just right for us.

The lamb shank was the standout. Slow-cooked for hours, the meat just fell off the bone. Rich, deep flavour from the red wine sauce, and the mash underneath soaked it all up perfectly. A proper, hearty dish.

The curry was so good, spicy and tasty. Would definitely go again if we're back in Ambleside.

The refillable drinks are a lifesaver for a long catch-up with friends. The cookie s'mores were a great sweet finish too.

The fish was lovely and fresh. Skin had a nice crisp. I asked for the tagliatelle without the chillies, and the sauce was still warm and flavourful. Appreciated that they could adjust it easily.

Cozy spot, really clean inside. I liked the little details in the ladies' room, like the nice hand soap and fresh flowers. The whole place just feels fresh and looked after.

The scallops were the star for me - seared just right, with a lovely little herb crust. The Tuesday tapas menu is a solid deal, portions are generous. My cocktail was nice too, a cherry amaretto thing.

Portions are huge for what you pay, pretty standard around here. Got the steak and chips, couldn't finish it all. Good value, no question.

Nice, cosy pub after a long hike. The steak and ale pie was the highlight for me – proper flaky pastry and the beef was really tender. The mash was creamy too. Staff were lovely and quick. Just what we needed.

Service was prompt and attentive. The prawn starter was decent but portion felt a bit small for the price. Mains were generous and well-prepared. Efficient for a business lunch.

The staff were so sweet playing Happy Birthday for my friend's little one! Made the whole table smile. Food was good for the price too.
