Love this place. It's a proper local, always has a good vibe. The drinks on tap are spot on. A bit loud on a Saturday night, but that's part of the charm.

My friend and I had just completed a 10 mile walk in 3 hours so it was great to receive a warm welcome on entering and the offer of pre- lunch drinks which were quickly produced. We were well looked after throughout our lunch by Steph who was polite, friendly and efficient. The food itself was very good (we both had the Sea Bass in a Pea and Pancetta veloute). First time visit but certainly not the last.

Been coming here for 20+ years. The quality is still the same - food is authentic, fresh, and never greasy. That consistency is hard to find.

English breakfast was solid. Good spread, everything cooked right. Bit pricey for what it is, but no complaints on the food itself. Would hit the spot again.

The roast was generous, and I really appreciated the fresh, crisp vegetables. The cauliflower cheese was a nice touch, but the Yorkshire pudding could have been a bit lighter. A good, hearty meal after a long walk.

Ted was a great server, attentive without being intrusive. The steak was cooked exactly as requested, and the wine pairing suggestion was spot on. A solid choice for a business dinner in this area.

Lovely old pub, really warm and cosy inside. Had a proper Sunday roast here, just what you want on a grey afternoon. The fire was lit, and the whole place felt so relaxed.

Cozy spot, perfect for a quiet dinner. Staff were really friendly, noticed they kept our water topped up without being asked. The background music was a nice touch, not too loud. Just a nice, relaxed evening out.

Been coming since the 80s. Still a Brighton institution. Flame-grilled burgers have that distinct flavour. Not like the big chains.

The pancakes were so fluffy, almost like a cloud. That texture is what I'll remember. The cozy vibe in the room just made it feel right.

Solid Mexican spot. The cactus hash browns were a nice surprise, and the fried beans had good flavour. My margarita was well-balanced, not too sweet, which paired nicely with the richer dishes. A solid choice for a casual meal with a decent drink.

Harissa eggs benedict and the Turkish eggs were both cooked just right. The harissa hollandaise had a nice kick without being overpowering. Turkish eggs were creamy and rich. Portions felt a touch small for the price, but the flavours were spot on.

Been ordering the vegan pizza for a while now. It’s always spot on. The gluten-free base is a nice touch, holds up well. A bit pricey maybe, but you get what you pay for.

The moussaka is the real deal. The eggplant is soft, the minced lamb is well-spiced, and the béchamel on top is properly thick and creamy. It’s a solid, comforting dish that tastes exactly like it should.

The vegan cheese on their pizza was a pleasant surprise. It actually melts and gets properly gooey, which is so rare. We sat in the backyard garden, but it was a bit too dark in the evening to really see the fresh herbs they mentioned.

Tommaso was a great server, really funny and made the night so much better. We were a big group and he kept things moving without feeling rushed. Just what you want for a catch-up with friends.

First time here without a booking and they squeezed us in. The mixed chicken kebab was the star - really juicy and flavourful, loved the smoky bits. The place itself is bright and modern, which was nice.

Friendly team, always a smile. Even when it's packed, they keep things moving smoothly. Just a nice, relaxed vibe to the place.

The food's still the main draw. Had the lamb shank again and it's as tender as I remember, maybe even richer. The new owners haven't messed with a good thing where it counts.

Booked for a Friday night and it was packed, so good call on the reservation. The vibe was buzzing but not overwhelming, really liked the warm lighting and the wooden tables. Food came out fresh and hot, which was nice.

We have had many meals at the Smuggiers Rest Peacehaven in the past for different occasions as it is quite close to home, We booked this our 28th wedding anniversary at short notice, And had another very enjoyable meal looked after by a very attentive waiter called Addison which made it all very pleasant meal/evening,

The fish was the star for me - the batter had this perfect crisp and the inside was so moist. Chips were a proper portion too. Just a really nice, friendly spot to grab a bite.

Classic burger was solid. Patty and bun quality stood out, no weird aftertaste. Even had a cold leftover slice the next day and it held up. Decent for the price.

Came here with friends on a packed Saturday night. The chicken and chorizo dish was so good for this time of year. Staff were really on it despite the crowd, which made it easy for us to just relax and chat.

Fish finger sandwich was spot on, crispy and not greasy. The leek and potato soup was a proper winter warmer, really hit the spot. Just what you want for a quick, no-fuss lunch.

The seafood paella was pretty good, flavours were spot-on and the ingredients tasted fresh. It's a decent choice for Spanish food in Brighton. The portion was a bit smaller than I'd expected, but no major complaints.

A proper Brighton find. Grilled chicken was spot on, fresh and tasty. The hummus was homemade, you can tell. Quick service, perfect for a lunch break. Staff are friendly without being over the top.

The tasting menu was a bit of a splurge, but honestly? The flavours were so thoughtful. Left feeling just right, not stuffed.

The cinnamon buns here are the real deal. Perfectly warm, gooey, and that icing... just right. It's what keeps me coming back. The place itself is spotless and the staff are lovely, but honestly, it's all about that bun for me.

The beer's really good here, and they brew their own now which is nice. It feels like the place is getting back to how it used to be. The seats were comfortable for a longer stay, which I always appreciate.
