The English breakfast was generous and delicious. Staff were kind and quick, which made for a really comfortable visit.

When I booked this, it escaped me that it was situated in the Café Royal Hotel. What a beautiful setting, on the balcony of the main reception to the hotel; and what history. Adorning the walls are memorabilia of days gone by and the rich and famous, who frequented the hotel. For instance, adjacent the dining area is an annexe that was home to the final performance of David Bowie as his alter ego, Ziggy Stardust. Elsewhere, there are pictures of Lulu, Mick Jagger and Lou Reed and many others. We chose to eat from the set menu and the food was superb. Service was swift without being rushed, and tables are well spaced so even when busy there is no feeling of being cramped, indeed quite intimate at our generous round (as many of them are) table. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant as a must see place, and we’ll be back too as it’s just too good for a one off visit. As a post matinee theatre dinner, this was perfect for us, a haven in an otherwise bustling area of London.

The Mexican Benedict was fantastic. As a vegetarian, I was pleased to see so many thoughtful plant-based options clearly marked on the menu.

The salmon and cheese on sourdough was a real find. The salmon was creamy, the bread perfectly crisp. A lovely little lunch spot in London.

The coffee is seriously good here. My friend and I popped in for a catch-up and I asked for an extra shot in my latte - the barista was so nice about it, even though I was being a bit fussy. Perfect spot for a relaxed coffee with mates.

Had the full English breakfast here. Portions are generous for the price, and the staff were really welcoming. The bacon was cooked just right, not too crispy. A solid, classic breakfast spot.

Been coming here for years. The food's always solid, nothing fancy but done right. Good spot for a proper, filling lunch without breaking the bank.

Staff are lovely. Welcoming and helpful. Nice little space. Croissants have great lamination. Breakfast portions a bit small, but fresh. Prices are excellent for the cakes and pastries.

I've ordered a couple of custom birthday cakes from them. They're always responsive, and the cakes are pretty good—nicely decorated and tasty without being too sweet. The last one was a bit pricey, but it was fine.

The sausages and bacon were spot on, and the pancakes with fresh fruit were a real treat. Hot chocolate was great too.

A decent spot for a quiet coffee. The selection of savouries and cakes is fine, and the location is pretty good. Coffee portions are generous. It felt a bit tucked away, but that adds to the relaxed feel.

Always get my flat white here, it's just right. The pastries are fresh too, I had a croissant that was perfectly flaky. My go-to spot for a proper coffee.

A nice little spot with a local vibe. I had a decent lunch here and browsed the community flyers by the door. It's a pretty good place to unwind for a bit. The soup was a touch salty for my taste, but fine overall.

A solid spot for a quick bite before a flight. The scones were good, tea was hot. Full breakfast and tea service available. Prices are fair. Convenient location made it a repeat stop for me.

Been coming here for years, and their carrot cake is the reason. It's always spot on - moist, not too sweet, the frosting is just right. That consistency keeps me coming back. The rest of the menu changes, but the cake is a constant.

Been coming here for years, always get the avocado toast with poached eggs. They never mess up the runny yolk, which is harder to find than you'd think. Coffee's decent. It's just a reliable spot for a proper breakfast.

Love the homemade feel here. The hash browns are fresh grated, which you don't see often. Sausages are from East London Sausage Co. – really good quality. For the price, you get a proper, hearty portion. Felt like a good deal for a full breakfast.

A lovely little spot in the gardens of Valentine's Mansion. Sat outside with my tea, which was just right. The homemade soup smelt amazing from the next table. It's all very peaceful here, a nice escape. The cakes looked incredible, had to resist!

The flower shop up front is such a nice touch. You walk in and the whole place just smells like a garden. It's a really pretty, gentle vibe for a meal.

Lovely little spot for a quiet bite. The full English was spot on - good quality sausage, eggs cooked just right. The mozzarella sticks on the side were a nice touch, really crispy. A solid, simple breakfast.

The crispy duck hash is the one I always order. It's a decent portion for the price, and they don't skimp on the duck. Honestly, that's the main reason I keep coming back.

The gluten-free pancakes were really nice. Light and fluffy, and you could tell they used fresh ingredients. Just a bit pricey for the portion size, but it's good to see proper options on the menu.

I really appreciate being able to watch the coffee being roasted on-site. It gives you a real sense of the freshness and care that goes into each cup. You can tell they're passionate about their beans.

The mushroom pastry was a real surprise. Flaky, savoury, and the coffee was brewed fresh at the counter. The wooden interior is cosy, though the outdoor seats were all taken. Solid spot for a quick bite.

Flat white's always on point. Kennedy's a legend, makes you feel right at home. Good spot to park up with the laptop for a bit. Quick, no fuss.

This restaurant has a colorful decoration that adds to the pleasant dining experience. The staff is attentive, making it a great place to enjoy a meal.

The falafel and halloumi wrap is a solid choice, and the hummus is top-notch. Their house red was a surprisingly good match for the meal, really tied it all together. My go-to for a casual weekend lunch.

The truffle carbonara was the star of our meal. Creamy, with generous shavings and a lovely depth of flavour. For the price, it's a solid choice. My only note is the pasta itself was a touch softer than I'd prefer.

Nice quick lunch spot. The chicken schnitzel came out fast and was crispy. Good portion for the price. Staff were friendly, got my order right away. The brownie was decent, a bit dry though. Solid for a quick bite.
