The owner's daughter was helping out today, super sweet. She chatted with us about the menu and you could tell she really loves the place. It felt like visiting a friend's kitchen.

Been coming here for years. Their durian cendol is the real deal. Ice cream's just sweet enough, and they always give you a good chunk of fresh durian on top. Perfect for cooling down after being out in the sun.

This chicken rice place is the real deal. The breast meat was actually juicy, which is rare. Rice had a nice ginger kick. Cozy spot, felt like a proper local meal.

Salted egg calamari was the star. Crispy, creamy, the right kind of salty. Everything else was solid too. Good for sharing, didn't break the bank.

Evening live music here is just right. Not too loud, you can still chat easily. It's a nice background vibe, not overpowering.

Muar Soup House is located in 47, Jalan Sisi, Pekan Muar, Muar, Johor. This soup house started as a typical pedicab stall in 1958. Today, it occupies 3 shophouses in downtown. Their famous Mutton & Beef soups that are their main draw, Mee Bandung and Nasi Lemak are popular too.

The second floor has a small stage, which is a nice touch. The decor is tasteful and makes for a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A comfortable spot for a quiet dinner.

First time trying their Nyonya laksa. The coconut milk broth is fragrant, not too heavy. Really hits the spot on a rainy day. The spice level is just right for me.

The ayam masak bali is the real deal here. The chicken is incredibly tender, falling right off the bone. The sauce has that deep, slow-cooked flavor with just the right amount of heat from the chilies. Sambal tempeh was crispy and savory. That's what I come for.

Came by for dinner, the salted egg squid was really good, crispy and flavourful. The black pepper ostrich was a nice surprise, tender and well-seasoned. Everything was cooked just right. A solid meal.

The white tom yam is solid. Haven't found a comparable one elsewhere in Melaka. Good for a quick lunch. Portion is decent for the price.

Cozy place, good for families. Staff are friendly and professional. Had a business lunch here, service was prompt which I appreciate. Food came out quickly. Prices are reasonable for the area. Would come back for another meeting.

The food's the main thing here. Tried the nasi lemak, the sambal had that perfect kick and the rice was fragrant. Portion was decent for the price. That's what keeps me coming back.
