The apple pie here is seriously good—classic, not too sweet, just right. I came with a couple of friends and we ended up staying way longer than planned, just chatting over coffee. Cozy little spot to people-watch too. Only thing is it got a bit busy later, but that’s probably a good sign 😄

The croissant was actually good. Buttery, flaky, proper layers. Filter coffee did the job too. Tried the flat white as well, decent enough. Staff were friendly but honestly I just came for the pastry. Would grab that croissant again if I'm around Utrecht.

The Eton mess and chocolate trio were spot on. Service did the job. Already thinking about going back.

The food was solid, nothing to complain about there. But our table near the door had cold drafts every time someone came in. A bit uncomfortable on a chilly day. I'd still come back, just maybe ask for a different spot next time.

Truffle risotto was decent, but for €18 I expected a bigger portion. View is nice though, so you're paying for that. Affogato was a good way to end.

Dropped by for dinner with a couple of friends and honestly the duck was the highlight 🦆. Menu’s pretty big so we took forever deciding but no regrets. Portions are decently sized, we left super full. It’s not the cheapest spot but for a fun night out it worked. Place got a bit loud later though, so maybe go early if you want to chat easily.

The staff actually checked the ingredients for vegan options without me even asking twice. That was nice. Food came out decent, nothing crazy but the service made it easy to relax. Place was a bit busy but not too loud. I'd probably come back if I'm in the area again.

The burger and apple pie were pretty good, staff friendly too. Place had a decent vibe, nothing fancy but fine for a casual stop.

Cozy little place, friendly staff. The banana pie was the real highlight—felt properly homemade. Would've liked a better wine list to match, but the vibe made up for it.

The vegan Turkish pizza was honestly one of the best things I've eaten in the Netherlands. Burger was solid too. Would come back to Alkmaar just for that.

Solid spot for a quick bite. The smash burger was juicy and well-seasoned, portion sizes felt right for the price. Service was fast even with a line.

Great spot on the main square, right across from the Stadhuis. Bitterballen were crispy and the honey mustard dip was solid. Bit busy but fine for a quick stop.

We popped in for lunch and honestly the goat cheese salad with walnuts and date balls looked almost too pretty to eat. Tasted great too. They even whipped up an off-menu advocaat ice cream for my mom, which was such a thoughtful touch. Prices felt fair for what you get.

Solid spot for Dutch food. Staff helped us pick a decent beer to go with it. Prices fair for the area. Quick enough for a lunch break.

We arrived late and the kitchen was basically closed, but they still let us order the vegan gyoza and satay. Really appreciated that. The gyoza were the highlight.

We stopped by for dinner and honestly the vibe was the best part. Seats were comfortable enough to just sit and chat after we finished eating. Had a cocktail to wrap things up, decent but nothing crazy. Place wasn't too loud either, which I appreciated. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

The grilled sea bass was cooked just right, flaky and juicy. Service was fast, even though the place was packed on a Friday night. Prices are a bit steep for the neighborhood, but the portion size made up for it. I'd come back if I'm craving seafood again.

This restaurant was really suprising discovery. I had great dinner there. The Food was super delicious and the staff was super friendly. Nice ambience and super easy to find Location in the centre. I highly recommend it.

The tomato soup was the standout for me. Had it with a side of granola and yogurt, quick bite before my train. Soup had real depth, not the watery stuff you usually get. Coffee was decent too. Place does exactly what it needs to do.

Service was quick, food came out hot and fresh. Place was clean too, honestly nicer than your usual McDonald's. Solid stop if you're in the area.

The terrace is the main reason to come here. Grabbed a seat after a long bike ride through the park, perfect for soaking up the sun. Service was a bit slow, but the vibe made up for it.

Busy place, but the food’s consistently good and portions are solid. Plenty of veggie options too. Staff kept things moving despite the crowd.

The lunch tasting platter was solid—lots of homemade hot and cold dishes, way more than I expected. I told them I don’t eat cheese and they actually adjusted things without making it awkward. That never happens. Just wish the bread was a bit warmer, but honestly I’d go back for that platter again.

The upstairs party room is actually a solid find. Spacious enough for a group, plus there's a little kitchen if you want to bring your own snacks. Hosts made it all pretty easy to organize. Good spot if you're planning something casual with friends.

The brie melt was solid—cheesy, buttery, exactly what I wanted. Pancakes and matcha were good too. Didn't care much about the decor, but the food did the talking.

That baguette tradition is legit — proper chewy crumb and that sourdough tang. My French mate actually nodded in approval, which says enough. Hard to find this quality in NL.

The veggie dishes were really tasty, just wish it wasn't so packed when we went. Book a table first! 😅

Nice local beer and the fries were properly crispy. Late macchiato hit the spot too. Sat on the terrace for a while, it's a decent spot to just hang out. Service was fine, nothing fancy. Wouldn't mind coming back if I'm in the area again.

The spicy feta dip was the best thing we ordered—really creamy with a proper kick. Tried a few sharing plates and they were all solid, though portions are on the smaller side for what you pay. Place was pretty packed when we went, so it got a bit loud, but the food made up for it.

Been coming here for a while now, and the three-course lunch still holds up. Plates come out looking proper, and they actually take a moment to tell you what’s on them. Feels more like a dinner than a quick lunch stop. That’s mainly why I keep going back.
