Solid meat, no question. Salmon was dry though, overcooked. Desserts meh. But if you're here for the steak, you're fine. Good enough spot for a casual dinner.

€24 for three courses. The gin-infused salmon starter was the best part, really tasty. Pork medallion was decent, full of flavour. Cheese platter for dessert was a nice way to finish. For that price, I honestly wasn't expecting much, but it delivered. Portion sizes were fair too. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

The staff were friendly and attentive, no complaints there. I had the grilled chicken and it was fresh, decent portion too. Pretty good spot if you're in the area and want something simple. Maybe not the most exciting menu, but it did the job fine.

My husband and I came to your wonderful restaurant yesterday evening with friends. This is the second time that we have visited Restaurant Johannes. Exceptional and friendly service, absolutely delicious food and a marvelous atmosphere. We live in Westerhaar in Overijssel and will certainly visit you again. Thank you for the fabulous evening. Best Wishes Belinda and Wim Noppers

The wine list surprised me—solid European picks without the usual markup. Staff knew their stuff and pointed me to a great match for the steak.

I had a wonderful lunch at Luc's with a group of 16 people. The service was friendly and attentive, and everything was well organized. Highly recommended for larger groups!

We took mum out for high tea on mother's day. We were served a savory platter with a variety of small bite size sandwiches and a sweet platter with a variety of bitesize sweets and fruit. Fresh mint and ginger or different flavours of teabags and a bottle of cava completed our high tea afternoon. Service was friendly and relaxed, food was tasty and ambience lovely. I would recommend this place for a relaxing time out. Location is also great if you want to sit outside on the patio.

The service and food is good. Very friendly staff, the prices are good. there was a special day menu 3 courses with ossobuco lamb as main course. Very soft meat and the sauce and spaghetti were excellent. Homemade Tiramisu as dessert was lovely.

The ribeye was cooked properly, decent char on the outside. Sides were fine, nothing crazy. But the veranda seating gets ignored after 8pm, had to wave someone down twice just for water. Food itself held up though, that's what matters.

Stopped by for a late lunch after the museum. Food was simple but decent, and the staff kept things moving. Kitchen looked spotless. Busy but got a table right away.

We tried the 5-course chef's menu. The ingredients felt really fresh, especially the fish course. I'm picky about that. Wine pairing was nice too, not too heavy. Only thing, the pacing was a bit slow between courses. But the food itself was solid. I'd come back for the seasonal menu.

Been coming here for a while now. Food stays fresh and they've got solid vegan and gluten-free options. Prices are fair for what you get, never had a complaint.

Fried black pudding with apple and duck liver was the standout—proper creative. Portion sizes are decent for the price, which is rare around here. Cozy spot, though it did get a bit busy later.

Stopped here during a bike ride and had the goulash with a lager. Hit the spot after cycling. Staff were friendly and let us take our time. Seats outside were comfortable enough to just sit and relax for a bit. Nothing fancy, but it worked well for what we needed.

The food was amazing and the wine was extraordinary, but unfortunately the evening turned into a terrible experience because of a serious allergy issue. My girlfriend has a severe nut allergy. I informed the restaurant by email a week in advance and clearly asked them to exclude any nuts, seeds, or traces of nuts from her dishes. The first three courses were great, but when the fourth course arrived, my girlfriend’s lips started itching, followed by her mouth. We immediately asked what was in the dish, and the chef/founder, Corrie Hop, told us it contained pine nuts (Pijnboompitten). My girlfriend panicked. Luckily, one of the staff members had antihistamine pills, which helped calm things down a bit, but soon after she had to run to the toilet and vomit because the allergic reaction got worse and would not stop. The staff did try to help, and I appreciate that, but it was still a horrible situation. I was left sitting there worried and hoping the reaction would not become more serious. What made it worse was the explanation afterwards: even though they had read my email in advance, they said pine nuts (Pijnboompitten) are not “nuts” but kernels/seeds (pitten), and that next time I should specifically mention they also need to exclude kernels as well. I found that response very disappointing, especially after I had already warned them clearly about the allergy. In the end, I still had to pay more than €200+ for an evening that ended in stress, sickness, and disappointment. Food and wine were excellent, but allergy awareness and responsibility were not.

Stopped by for dinner and honestly didn’t expect much. The food was solid—portions are generous, no complaints there. I had a glass of their house red with the main course, paired better than I thought it would. Staff were friendly enough, not overly attentive but fine. Wouldn’t mind coming back if I’m in the area again.

Been coming here for a while now, and the service is the reason I keep going back. Staff remembers you, doesn't hover, just gets it right. Prices are fair too, especially for the neighborhood. Had another solid meal last week, nothing fancy but consistent. That's what counts after a few visits.

The chicken bao buns were soft and warm, the latte macchiato had that nice bitter edge. Staff remembered my order from last time, which felt genuine. Place is small, a bit cramped when it gets busy, but the street outside is quiet and pretty. I’d sit by the window again.

The curries here are really good. Rich and fragrant, not too spicy, which I liked. The beef was tender, chicken too. I finished my rice and kept dipping into the sauce. Only thing is the seating is a bit cramped, but the food made up for it. Friendly staff as well.

The steak and sirloin were really good, some of the best I've had. Fries were fresh and crispy too. Service was friendly and not rushed, though it's a small spot that fills up fast.

Dropped by for the 5-course menu. Halibut was the highlight, really well cooked. Staff knew their wine list, helped me pick something decent. Place is quiet, feels off the tourist path. Pacing was good, not too rushed. Only thing, it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for here. Solid choice if you're in the area.

Solid pasta, right by the station. Modern place, clean. Prices are a bit steep though. Staff mostly spoke English, kinda weird for Utrecht. Food was tasty, no complaints there. Just felt a bit touristy maybe.

The lunch set here is decent—croque monsieur and madame both solid, under 10 euros and filling enough. Art deco interior gives it a nice vibe, though nothing fancy. Service was quick and friendly. Pretty good spot if you're in the area and want a simple, no-fuss meal.

We had a fantastic dining experience with excellent service and a variety of tasty dishes. The prices are reasonable, making it a great value for the quality of food.

Came here for breakfast on a Saturday. Got the rainbow bowl, it was fresh and tasty, but honestly a bit small for the price. Place is cozy, staff friendly enough. Gets pretty crowded though, had to wait a bit for a table. Fine if you're in the neighbourhood and want something healthy.
