Came for a quiet dinner. The staff were really friendly and attentive, which made the whole evening feel relaxed and easy. A nice spot for a comfortable meal.

The fish and chips are a solid choice. The batter is light and crispy, which I really like. The fish is always fresh. It's just a good, classic meal, nothing fancy but reliably tasty.

Been coming here for breakfast for years now. That bacon and egg roll is always spot on - two perfectly fried eggs, loads of bacon, soft bap. It's just consistently good. The team are always friendly, even at 7am.

The staff were really friendly and attentive even when it was packed. Appreciated them being upfront about the wait time.

Tried the award-winning spot across town last week, but honestly, this place holds up. The lamb shank was just as good, maybe even better. A proper local find.

Been coming here for years, and they’ve always been cool with us bringing in a takeaway. It’s a simple thing, but it makes the place feel like a proper local spot. After a long walk, it’s just what you need.

Their churros are so good! Perfectly crispy outside, soft inside. We shared a plate with chocolate dip and ice cream, just the right sweet treat to end a fun catch-up with friends.

The Thai curry was a bit watery for my taste, could've used more punch. My partner's main was really good though, so I'd probably try something else next time.

The portions are huge, honestly. I could barely finish my pasta. Good value for the quality, though the price felt about right for what you get.

Been here a few times with mates. The penne vodka with salmon is always spot on - looks great on the table for sharing too. Staff are really polite. It's just a reliable spot for a catch-up.

The fillet steak is the best in Durham. Ordered it medium rare, and it arrived exactly that way. Tender, good flavour. Prices are fair for what you get.

The paneer bhuna was lovely, really fresh. The wait was a bit long, but the seats were comfortable so it was fine.

Nice spot in an old building downtown. I like that you can see the kitchen. The pizza was good, but honestly, for the price, I expected a bit more on the plate.

The 2-for-£25 deal is solid. Had the steak and fish pie last night. Steak was cooked just right, fish pie creamy and hearty. Portions are decent for the price. Food arrived quickly, which was nice as we were pretty hungry.

The staff were so kind and accommodating. I had a specific request about the wine pairing for my main, and they took the time to discuss it properly. Made the whole evening feel relaxed and considered. A real plus.

The steak was cooked just right, and the sauce was lovely. I also tried my friend's mussels, which were really good. The £13.95 set menu is a nice option, and you can choose a dessert instead of a starter. A comfortable spot for a relaxed meal.

Lovely welcome, and they made a dish off-menu for my husband without any fuss. The chicken was really good quality, and the sauces were something else. Came to about £60 with drinks.

The cheesecake was the standout. Rich, dense filling with a buttery, crumbly base that wasn't too sweet. Perfect texture. The rest was fine, but I'd go back just for a slice of that.

The menu had so many pizza and pasta choices, it was a bit hard to decide. The portions are really generous though, which I appreciate. The staff were very patient while we looked through everything.

The team here really gets it. Asked for a bit more garlic in the pasta and a tweak to the spice level, and it was no issue at all. Paired it with a lovely Barbera that cut through the richness perfectly. Makes for a relaxed evening.

Tried their wine & dine menu last night. The food was gorgeous, especially the lamb. Felt like a proper cosy spot with the fireplace going. Price was decent for what we got. Might pop back.

Nice little spot opposite The Chesters. The staff handled our group of eight perfectly. Their wine list had a decent selection that paired well with the food.

The portions here are huge, which I appreciate. The staff were great, really took their time walking us through the menu and explaining the traditional way to eat each dish. I just wish their wine list had a few more local options to pair with such hearty food.

Service here is solid. Staff are quick to respond and genuinely helpful, which makes a difference when you're in a hurry. No complaints on that front.

The potato skins and feta salad were a real highlight. I enjoyed them with a glass of their house red, a nice, simple pairing that worked well. The other courses were solid, though the main was a bit rich for my taste.
