It's absolutely my favorite Chinese restaurant in China town with the traditional Chuancai dishes. The food is amazing and we also had BBQ there. I haven't tried any other Chinese restaurant can make such spicy and hot food in Newcastle. It's definitely worth a try if you are a spicy food lover.

Visited Durham for a super historical weekend. Didn’t dream we would eat in such an amazing restaurant too. The food would grace any Michelin starred table. Great taste and presentation throughout the 7 course tasting menu. (We added another to the 6 😋) wines and service exceptional too.

Staff were attentive and quick. The mushroom and halloumi pitta was good, sides of mash and spicy grains were solid. Service was efficient, which I appreciate during a working lunch. No fuss, got the job done.

Changes noticed this week (different to last week) - the Yorkshire puddings have improved; the size of the meat portion has reduced and the gravy was lumpy. Overall the meal was good despite the former comments. Regrettably, the ambience was spoiled by some very noisy children but the service and staff were courteous and polite.

Cosy spot with a fun 50s vibe. Menu's small but everything we tried was spot on. Perfect for a catch-up with mates - we lingered over the mains (from £18) and never felt rushed. Service was just right, friendly but not in your face.

Good wine list, lots to choose from. We had the set menu and tried a different glass with each course. Pairing worked well, service was knowledgeable on the options. Solid choice if you want to explore some pairings.

Lee was so good with our little one. He kept her entertained while we ate, made the whole meal way less stressful. Really appreciated that.

Cozy little spot. Felt like a hidden gem. Atmosphere was super relaxed, just right for a casual bite.

The hot shot parmo was spot on, especially the skin-on chunky chips.

The curry's got great flavour and it's cheap. Quick bite sorted.

Got a table right after opening, no booking. But wow, it filled up so fast. By the time we left, it was nearly packed. A bit of a lucky escape there.

Came here for a pre-race dinner. The pasta was spot on, really well cooked. Service was quick and friendly, got us in and out without a fuss. Just what we needed.

Been coming here for years. The food is consistently delicious. That's really the only thing I care about.

Had a work do upstairs. Hall's a decent size, good for a dance floor. Bar was fine, drinks were okay. Got my pint quick, which is all you need really. Did the job.

Been coming here for years. Always spotless and relaxed, which is exactly why I keep coming back.

Really enjoyed the friendly vibe here, and the free soup and tiramisu were a nice touch. My Napoli pizza was tasty, but I was a bit surprised it didn't come with any olives.

A must-visit spot in Whitley Bay. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the staff were so welcoming.

Service was nice. They remembered I liked extra napkins from last time and brought them without asking. Little things like that make a difference.

A proper old-school pub. The steak and ale pie was hearty, good chips too. I had a pint of their house bitter with it – the malty notes worked a treat with the rich gravy. Just what you need on a damp evening.

Wasn't expecting much, just popped in for a quick bite. Mentioned my nut allergy and the server actually went to check with the kitchen twice. Felt pretty relaxed for once.

Booked ahead for a Friday night and it was packed, so glad we did! The vibe was buzzing but not overwhelming. We tried their signature seafood linguine – the prawns were huge and the sauce had a lovely kick. Portions are generous, left feeling nicely full. A solid spot if you're in the area.

The cod and chips from the takeaway were lovely. The batter was so light and crisp, and the fish inside was really fresh. The slush puppy was a nice touch on a warm evening. Just a solid, tasty meal.
