First time here and loved the fireplace on a chilly night. The old-school bar vibe was just right, really cosy. Had a great gin and tonic by the fire.

Had beef &amp; ale meat pie with mash potato and mushy peas. Mash was good, mushy peas were a tablespoon of green puree. The pie was really good, very large, excellent pastry &amp; good inside. Satisfying. For $28 was Good.

Fantastic kind staff, adjusted the double fried potatoes for me (almost had a cheese flavour!) so i had it with their Black garlic sauce and Rocket Pesto. Was a fantastic vibe with the jazz, many people stopped on the cobbles to sit and watch - even thought it was nippy chilly and nearly drizzling - no wonder these kids win scholarships to the best jazz schools!

The Diner provided great food , great service along with friendly and happy vibe . My friends and I had a very enjoyable evening . We stayed until closing time but were not pushed into leaving , standing and talking to staff
