The Guinness-braised beef cheek was just so tender. And those Yorkshire puddings? Perfectly crisp and fluffy. A really lovely, comforting Sunday lunch.

Great for a big group. The food was ready and fresh when we got there, which was perfect with the kids.

Love the classic pub feel here. The garlic bread was just right, and the burger had this really nice, deep flavour. Not spicy, and the crunch was perfect. One of the best around.

The veggie roast was spot on - really well-seasoned gravy and the roasties were crispy. Portions are generous for the price. Burger looked good too, but I didn't try it. Solid pub grub.

Walked in for bottomless brunch during their renovations. Staff were so lovely and squeezed us in despite limited seating. Drinks were topped up constantly, really efficient service. Made a potentially tricky visit feel easy.

Ive not been in the Cardigan Arms for around 30 years. I was delighted that the magnificent decor, furniture and layout hadnt been changed and that they were now serving food. I had a fabulous beef Sunday roast and my neighbour had succulent gammon, Yorkshire puds etc. I asked for extra gravy, which was delicious and horse raddish. The staff were really helpful, infact quite charming. A good selection of beers, wines and a well stacked bar. Easy access from the street and plenty of parking. As an ex-Secret Diner, it really ticked all the boxes for me. Thanks Liam, your a great chef

A decent campsite with nice views of the countryside. It's well-located for walks into Matlock and Matlock Bath, which was pretty good. The pitches were fine, though a bit close together.

Been here a few times. Staff are nice, they remember you. Brought water for our dog without asking, which is handy. Makes it easy to pop in.

The lamb and new potato pie was the star. Proper homemade pastry, rich filling. A solid 20-minute walk from our hotel, but no regrets.

A quiet weekday lunch with my sister. I really appreciated how they handled my request to swap the side salad for extra grilled veggies without any fuss. The greens in my main were so crisp and fresh, you could tell they were prepped that morning. Made for a really satisfying, light meal.

The atmosphere at Flight Club is fantastic, making it a perfect spot for a fun night out with friends or family. Everyone around us was enjoying their games, which added to the overall experience.

Bottomless brunch was decent. Imose and the team kept things moving, which was good. Cocktails hit the spot.

Had the loaded fries and wings during their gaming night. The fries were crispy, wings had a nice kick. Owner's passion really comes through in the vibe. Drinks were solid too. A fun spot for a casual bite.

A nice little spot, but the construction across the street was pretty loud. The food was hot and fresh, and the prices are fair for the city centre.

First time here for a birthday meal. Impressed they got all our separate orders out together and hot.

The carvery's always spot on, the roast beef especially. Juicy and properly seasoned. The gluten-free menu is a thoughtful addition, just wish it had a couple more choices on there.

The staff handled our large group smoothly. Food was good, service made a stressful day manageable.

Been here a few times now. The roast beef is always spot on, cooked just right. Mixed grill's solid too. Staff are friendly, makes it a decent local spot.

Great little pub. Solid craft beer selection, both cask and keg. The rotating taps are the best part. Always something new to try. 👍

Decent spot for a casual bite. The burgers are huge, and the pub menu is reliable. Noticed a few student deals on the board, which is handy. The place itself is a bit loud, but the booths are comfy.

Good choice of food, excellently prepared and presented. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. We’ll certainly go again.

A group of us went for the 'Rock & Roll' night. The entertainer was excellent if a bit to loud. The food was pretty good. the prawn cocktail sauce was rather watery but the prawns were fine. The serving of pate was very generous but the bread was like concrete. I think it had started life as a sourdough baguette, been re-warmed then allowed to go cold.We were very pleased with the main course being served with separate dishes of potatoes and vegetables so you could choose what you wanted and how much. Our table all had the salmon which was lovely. The sweets were all good as well.A grand night was had by all.

Been coming here for years. It's always just the right kind of quiet after a long walk, never too crowded. That's what keeps me coming back. The space feels open and modern, but still cosy enough to properly unwind.

Loved the location, right at the top of the hill. It’s got that proper old-school pub feel, really cosy and welcoming. Spotlessly clean too! Spotted a pool table and darts board, which is a nice touch.

Came here for a birthday dinner. The service was really attentive without being overbearing. They noticed our empty glasses before we even had to ask. The atmosphere was relaxed, not too loud, which was nice for a chat.

Nice spot for a casual drink. The happy hour deals on craft beer and cocktails are a real plus. It's got a buzzy, lively atmosphere, though the stools at the bar aren't the most comfortable for a long sit.
