I had a wonderful experience dining on the terrace. The service was excellent, and the food was top-notch, especially the spareribs!

The best lambsrack ever ! Unbelievably succulent ! Large portion ! Pity one has to hurry before it gets cold. We ordered creme brulee for dessert. Very very tasty, too. Extremely friendly service at this place. We will be back.

We had the greatest meal and dining experience here on our last night in Groningen. Our food was terrific and the staff was amazing. Highly recommend!

The place looks great inside, staff were friendly enough. But honestly the food was kinda bland. Presentation was nice though, just didn't match the taste. Prices are fair for the area. Maybe they're going for subtle flavors, just not my thing. I'd come back for a drink maybe, not sure about a full meal.

The beer list is solid and the place has that proper old-school brown café feel. Had the shrimp croquettes with an espresso — both did the job. Staff left us alone until we needed them, which I appreciated. Only thing is the seating near the window is a bit cramped, but fine for a quick stop.

The vegan burger was solid, and they paired it nicely with a good red. Service was friendly, though the place got a bit loud later on.

The croissants are always warm and really good. Just a heads up, the big cappuccino comes in a latte glass and tastes more like plain coffee. Still, I left happy.

The nachos are still my go-to here. 13.5 bucks and a solid pile of them every time. Staff's been on point lately too.

Stopped by for a quick bite before our boat tour. Got the crispy potatoes on the side—honestly the best part of the meal. Really well seasoned, nice crunch. Service was quick enough for us to eat and still make it on time. Nothing fancy, but it hit the spot.

We have eaten at the restaurant (De Tippe) many times in the past. Our experiences there have been somewhat mixed, from disappointing to wholly enjoyable. This time was good but not exceptional. We were seated immediately but waited li ger than expected for a menu and drunk orders. The website for De Tippe showed a menu in english (not merely a translation) but a physical menu in English was not available in the restaurant (we had an english-speaking only guest with us). All elements of the meal were well presented and tasty but our pork schnitzel (we all ordered it) was tough to chew and should have been more tender.

The fish was good but honestly the curry coleslaw stole the show. Portions are generous and you get plenty of sides, so the price feels fair. We booked one of the tents which was fun, though the bar area seemed more lively. Service was attentive without hovering—they checked in just enough. Would come back for that slaw alone.

The veggie stoofpotje was seriously good—tempeh and mushrooms gave it that rich, hearty taste, I actually had to check it wasn’t meat. Portion was decent for the price, which surprised me. Plating looked nice too, but honestly I was just focused on eating it. Service was fine, nothing to complain about.

The Turkish eggs were seriously good. That garlic yogurt with the runny yolk just worked. I kept dipping bread in it until nothing was left. Place was a bit busy but whatever. Would come back just for that dish.

The food quality here is outstanding, especially the steak which was cooked to perfection. A must-try for meat lovers!

Amazing ambience, very gezellig and cosy places to sit. Food was good, portions of some dishes on the smaller side but still a good price-quality level. Highly recommend!

Lovely terrace for a sunny afternoon. Had the grilled chicken, it was juicy and well-seasoned. Service was a bit slow but friendly enough. Would sit outside again.

We stopped by for dinner and honestly the duck rillette was the highlight. The sommelier knew exactly what to suggest, which I appreciated. Service was friendly without hovering. Only small thing, the hachis parmentier came out a bit lukewarm. Still, a comfortable spot to unwind. I’d go back for the wine list alone.

We stopped by for lunch and I got the 12-uurtje. The hot chocolate was properly rich, not too sweet. The food was decent, though I did find the portion a bit on the small side for the price. But the ingredients tasted fresh, which I always appreciate. Staff was friendly enough, came by to check on us a couple of times.

The vegetarian dishes were pretty good — nicely plated and not the usual boring options. Staff knew the menu well, which helped. We had a decent evening overall. Just found the place a bit loud by the end, but that’s minor. Wouldn’t mind going back if I’m in the area.

The steak was cooked exactly how I asked. New Year's Eve menu had solid burgers too. Online menu in multiple languages saved me some hassle.

Had our anniversary lunch here last week. The truffle pasta was properly al dente, sauce had real depth. Bruschetta came out warm, nice char on the bread. Panna cotta was silky, not too sweet. Service was quick even though the place was packed. Only thing - tables are a bit close together, but that's typical for these small Italian spots.

The lunch deal here is solid for the price—savory and sweet bites plus a smoothie and coffee. Everything tasted fresh. I paired mine with a glass of their house red, which worked nicely with the sweeter dishes. Only downside: the wait. It got pretty busy around noon, so come early if you're in a hurry.

Been coming here for a while now. Jeffery still remembers my usual order, that’s why I keep coming back. Beer suggestion was on point again, not too heavy for a Tuesday night. Place gets busy but he handles it fine. Just wish they’d open the back windows when it’s warm, gets a bit stuffy.

Great wine list to match the pasta—our sommelier picked a nice Chianti that worked well. The carbonara was solid, though the place got a bit loud later. Still, a good spot for an easy Italian fix. 🍷

Food's decent but prices are a bit steep for what you get. The terrace is nice though, good spot when the weather cooperates.

Wonderful restaurant!!! The chef's menu is superb...can chose between 2-5 courses. We had 3 courses...next time I will opt for 5 courses. Everything is prepared and presented with great care and attention to detail. Brilliant flavours!! The service is IMPECCABLE!!! ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! Our server made us feel that we were the only one's in the restaurant...even though it was quite busy. Very friendly, attentive, and happy. Thank you for the wonderful service!!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is so very warm, cozy, and elegant. Always come to Basserie SPH when visiting, and never disappointed. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for a nice evening!!

The terrace view right on the water is unbeatable. Pizza was the standout—well-made and tasty. Lasagna leaned a bit too tomato-heavy for me, but the wine list had some solid picks to balance it out.

Beds were comfy, which mattered most after a long day. Room felt a bit dated, but for what we paid, it was decent value.

The lunch set at XO is a nice twist on the usual 12-uurtje—Tom kha kai soup, Caesar salad, and a small burger were all fresh and flavorful. Service was quick and friendly.
