The food is brilliant, no question. But the wine list is a bit steep for the neighbourhood. We had a Spanish red, rich and oaky, and it was a lovely bottle. Just stings a bit more than I&#39;m used to paying.

The seafood spaghetti was the star for me. The pasta was cooked just right, and there was loads of fresh seafood in there. A solid tiramisu to finish things off.

Solid local chippy. The cod was fresh, batter had a good crisp. Chips were spot on - crispy outside, fluffy inside. Decent portions. Staff were polite and helpful.

I have been a regular visitor to Englishes for many years, it is my favourite place to eat in Brighton, when I visit from London. On this occasion I brought a friend to celebrate her 60th birthday. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious as is their house champagne! It was relatively quiet inside the restaurant as the majority of the customers were sitting outside. The service was excellent.

Booked ahead and glad we did, it was packed! The English breakfast was spot on, really well done. Just a bit pricey for what it is, but you can taste the quality in the ingredients.

Simply the very best food and service. Always eat here when visiting Eastbourne. Such fresh ingredients and cooked before your very eyes. Can&rsquo;t recommend enough

The mixed seafood pot. The prawns and mussels tasted like they were just pulled from the water. That kind of freshness is hard to find. Had it right there on the beach, which was a nice touch.

The Thai curry mussels were the star. Plump, fresh, and the sauce had a lovely aromatic kick that wasn&#39;t too spicy. Portion was generous, which I appreciated. A solid choice.
