Popped in after shopping. Been a few times now, always find the staff friendly and professional. They remembered to ask about allergies again, which I appreciate.

Stopped by on a drive. The salmon was really juicy, with a nice sear. The mango avocado salsa was a nice touch. Service was a bit slow, but the food was good.

Nice little pub, perfect for a post-Wallace Monument pint. Really liked the cozy, rustic vibe. The staff were super friendly. I had a local ale that paired surprisingly well with the ploughman&#39;s lunch &ndash; a simple but spot-on combination.

Good choice of food, pleasant chatty staff, food was hit lively,view amazing.  Reasonably priced.  Wound line to have a little piece if shortbread or a nibble when having coffee or tea even if we have to pay for it.  Only let down was that!!

The whisky flight was a nice way to try a few things. Bartender knew his stuff, explained each pour without being pushy. Made it easy to pick a favourite.

Came here with a few mates for a casual catch-up. The fish and chips were spot on - crispy outside, flaky inside. But the real winner was the fried broccoli, honestly didn&#39;t expect to like it that much! Good spot for a relaxed group meal.

I had a wonderful Sunday Roast here, especially enjoyed the Roasted Lamb Leg and Turkey. The atmosphere felt like home, perfect for casual dining.

Shared the chicken nachos at the bar. Great for nibbling with a drink while you chat. The bar staff were really nice too.

Booked for a birthday. The venison was good, but I really noticed the freshness of the ingredients in the seasonal menu. Everything tasted so vibrant. The peach and thyme sponge was a lovely finish.

Loved the vibe in these historic cellars. Found a little private nook that was perfect for a quiet drink with a friend. Just a heads up, the doorway is quite low - my tall mate nearly bumped his head!

The Balmoral pheasant Sunday roast was a proper feast, so much meat! 🍗 They were really nice about moving us to a cosier booth when we asked.

The hot chocolate was the real deal. Thick, not too sweet, with a proper dark chocolate flavour that coats the spoon. It&rsquo;s what I come for. The homemade brownie on the side was decent, a bit dense for my taste, but the chocolate intensity matched the drink well.

Loved the tucked-away feel here. The venison bourguignon was rich and tender, really hit the spot on a chilly evening. The low lighting and wooden tables gave it such a warm, intimate vibe.

The lamb shank was the standout. Slow-cooked for hours, the meat fell off the bone effortlessly. Rich, deep gravy with a hint of rosemary. A proper, hearty dish. A bit pricey, but you can taste the effort.
