The daily soup is a real highlight. I had the broccoli and blue cheese one today - the ingredients tasted so fresh. A lovely, comforting lunch option.

Decent spot for a quick bite after the castle. Sat outside, caught a bit of the view. Food was okay, nothing fancy but it did the job. A bit pricey for what it was, but you're paying for the location I suppose.

Stayed at the hostel, so this was my go-to spot. The breakfast is a decent option for the price – you get a full plate, not just a token croissant. Good for fueling up before a day out.

Staff are always so friendly here. They gave us some really good menu suggestions, which was helpful as we were a bit overwhelmed by the choices. Felt very welcome.

Been coming here for years, and that whiskey sauce is the reason. It’s this rich, creamy thing they serve with the burger. Just something you don’t get anywhere else. Keeps me coming back.

Had a big group dinner here, about 20 of us. They handled the crowd well, service was steady and didn't slow down even when it got busy. Decent spot for a get-together.

Love the vibe here, especially on a Sunday. It's a real mix of locals and students. The roast was spot on - huge plate, proper gravy, and the beef was so tender. Honestly couldn't finish it all!

A proper pub, this. The atmosphere's spot on for a quiet pint and a catch-up. Staff are genuinely nice, no rush at all. What stood out was their rotating cask ale – had a lovely local bitter that paired perfectly with the relaxed vibe. A bit on the pricier side for a pint, mind.

Solid local pub. Real ales are well-priced and they rotate the cask options regularly. Good spot for a quiet pint, no blaring music or screens.

I really appreciate their focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients. The salad greens were crisp and the roasted vegetables had a lovely natural sweetness. A nice spot for a light, healthy meal.

Always a friendly welcome here, even on packed weekends. The bar team are particularly lovely - they remembered my usual order, which is a nice touch. Service is quick, no hanging around. Makes for a relaxed evening out.

A proper old pub, been coming here for years. The seats are comfy, and the staff are always friendly. It's just a nice, easy place to stop in for a pint.

Been twice now, once for breakfast and once for their Sunday roast. The roast beef was spot on, cooked just right and the gravy had a good depth to it. The breakfast was solid too, proper sausages.

A really welcoming pub that's so dog-friendly. The staff made me feel comfortable dining solo, which is lovely.

Great spot for a quick lunch. The classic fish and chips came out fast and hit the spot. Nice local vibe, and the staff were friendly. Perfect for when you need a decent bite without the wait.

Nice spot for a drink after work. The live music was a pleasant surprise, not too loud. Table service was fine. It's handy being so close to the tube. The place seemed very clean, which is always good.

Popped in for a quick pint. Got chatting with some regulars at the bar. Small spot, no frills, but has a real local feel. Perfect for a fast, friendly drink.

Came for a business dinner. Ryan, Lisa, and Molly handled our large group efficiently. Service was prompt and professional throughout the evening. Made the whole event run smoothly.

Rachel from management was super helpful. She told us about the disco lift, which was a fun little surprise. Made the visit a bit more interesting.

Been coming here for years. It's a solid spot for a proper sit-down dinner in the evening. The steak is always reliable, cooked just right. Not a fan of the daytime laptop crowd, but the evening vibe is what keeps me coming back.

Proper old-school Edinburgh pub. They've got a great selection of German beers on tap, which is a nice change. The music's a bit of an odd mix, but it works. Solid spot.

Lovely spot for a casual meal. The views are stunning, really adds to the relaxed vibe. My only note is that the chairs were a bit hard for a longer sit-down dinner. Still, a nice place to unwind.

A solid local spot. The tap beers are reasonably priced, which is nice. The food's decent too. What really made it a pleasant evening was the friendly vibe from the regulars. Just a good, uncomplicated night out.

The breakfast buffet is a steal at £10.99. The black pudding was a standout – perfectly cooked and so flavourful. My first time trying it and I'm sold!

Our go-to before flights. Gosia was lovely and helped us pick from the menu. The coffee is just right.

The burger was pretty good, nice and juicy. Service was decent, staff were friendly and attentive. A solid spot for a casual meal.

The cocktails are the star here. Had a perfect old fashioned, and the bartender knew exactly what I wanted when I asked for a classic not listed. Really solid drinks.

The grilled sea bass was the standout. Skin was perfectly crisp, flesh moist and flaky. The lemon butter sauce had a nice hint of herbs. Could have used a touch more seasoning, but the quality of the fish itself was undeniable.
