The portions here are generous for the price. I ordered the grilled fish set and couldn't finish the rice. Good for a filling meal.

Just stumbled upon this little cafe next to Komoro Station. The garden out back is so peaceful, with benches tucked away among the plants. Sat there for ages with my iced coffee, watching the local trains come and go. A really nice find.

Came here for lunch after a walk around the plateau. The place was buzzing! Got the curry rice, which was hearty and hit the spot. A bit of a wait for a table, but it was nice to just chat with my friends while we hung out outside. Good for a casual group meal.

Stopped by for the teppan steak course. The steak itself was really good, juicy and tender. The veggies and sauces that came with it were nice too. Just a solid, tasty meal.

The syphon coffee here is very good. The owner's dogs are friendly and make the place feel relaxed.

Came right after the hot spring. Got a seat at opening, but it filled up fast. The ramen broth was really rich and warming, perfect for after a soak. A bit on the salty side for me, but still hit the spot.

Hot sandwiches were really good. Soup and sides were nice too. Quiet spot for lunch.

The quiet, wood-paneled room really lets you focus on the food. It's a nice, calm spot. I liked how the simple setting didn't distract from the meal itself.

Good morning set deal for bread and coffee. The tea and chocolate scone was a nice touch. Quick and easy.

Good spot for a quick sake stop. They have a lot of local Nagano bottles. Tried the chilled new sake - really liked it. Standing bar setup keeps things fast and simple. 👍

Ordering was a breeze with the English menu and wall pictures. The wine list had some nice local options to pair with the meal.

Came for the lunch set. Got a drink and dessert included, which was nice. The salad was really fresh and crisp, and the dressing tasted homemade. For the price, you get a decent amount.

The Hida beef fillet was really good. The roast beef they suggested was also a solid pick.

The gyoza were really good, crispy on the bottom. The ramen broth was a bit too salty for me, but the fried rice helped balance it out. Solid spot for a quick lunch.

The tonkotsu shoyu ramen. The broth's pork bone flavor is good, not too heavy, with a clear soy sauce finish. The noodles are medium-thick, nice bite to them. The char siu is a thick cut, flavorful. It's a solid bowl.

As a solo diner, I really liked that they offer half portions. It let me try a couple of different things with my wine without feeling wasteful. A nice, considerate detail for someone dining alone.

The taiyaki here is great. The outside is super crispy, almost like a thin wing, but the inside is still soft and warm. The red bean paste isn't too sweet, just right. Perfect for a quick snack.

Loved the antique decor here. The wooden furniture and old photos on the wall give it a really cozy, lived-in feel. The staff at the entrance was also very nice.
