The onion gratin soup was a real surprise. So rich and comforting, with that perfect cheesy crust. Honestly, I almost liked it more than my galette! The menu has so many choices, it's hard to pick just one.

Stayed overnight after the tasting menu. The room was simple, cozy like a mountain cabin. Falling into bed after all those courses was the best part.

Only set menu on weekends, but the soba was the highlight. Perfect for a long, chatty dinner with friends.

The steak was spot on, and their wine list had a nice pairing suggestion for the lamb.

The apple soft serve with apple sauce was so refreshing! The sweet and tart flavors balanced perfectly. It was the perfect light treat to share with friends after a big meal.

Dropped in without a booking, got lucky with a seat at the bar. The grilled fish was spot on. Their house white wine was a surprisingly good match for it, really lifted the whole dish. A bit of a wait for the food, but worth it. You'll definitely need a reservation most nights.

The private room was nice, felt safe with the air purifier running. But for the price, I expected a bit more space honestly. It was a bit tight for our group of four.

The samosas are incredible. The pastry is flaky and crisp, and the spiced potato filling is perfectly seasoned. A must-try. The beer was served in a chilled glass, which was a nice touch.

Their lunch set included a creative vegetarian starter, paired nicely with a crisp white wine.

The thick-cut beef tongue with salt is the reason I came. Juicy, with a great texture. A bit pricey for the portion, but I'd order it again.

The wooden walls have this lovely, worn-in warmth. It's just so calming, especially with that soft jazz playing in the background.

The wasabi leaves starter is nice. I usually get the soba set, but the noodle portion is huge, couldn't finish it all. The soup is light, and the fresh wasabi is sweet, not harsh.

They have a few veggie dishes. The staff was really friendly and checked in a couple times. Made it easy to just relax.

Stopped by after visiting the castle. Right by the station, super convenient. Got a seat at the counter—nice for eating alone. Had the soba set, it was solid. Quick and easy.

Sanzoku Yaki for lunch. Spacious izakaya. The chicken was the best I had on this trip. Generous portion.

Cold soba in winter. Still good. Tempura tastes like the ingredients themselves. Thin noodles.

The grilled beef. Ordered medium rare, came out exactly that. Juicy, tender, no chewiness at all. The sear was good. Just focused on that one plate.

Been coming here for years. They always have those forest-themed goods and Scandinavian home items. I like that the local artwork keeps changing, so there's usually something new to spot. Good for a quiet browse.

The Shinshu beef stew was very tender, and the sauce had a nice depth to it. What really stood out was the calm, dignified feel of the place. Loved the beautiful retro tableware they use – it added a quiet, classy touch to the whole meal.

The walnut ohagi was a nice surprise, warm and comforting. Pairs well with a simple cup of green tea.
