The smoked haddock fish cakes are fantastic. Really generous portions for what you pay, especially being so close to the ferry.

It's always packed, but they managed to get our order in quickly. The staff were genuinely friendly, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed.

A nice spot for a morning coffee. The staff are friendly and offered a free scone with my order, which was a pleasant surprise. The scone itself was decent, though a little on the dry side.

Been coming here for years. Always get the steak frites, and it's consistently cooked just right. That's what keeps me coming back.

Lovely meal, the food was fresh and tasty. Portions are generous too. The service was great, really made us feel welcome.

The owner was so helpful finding a table for our group and explaining all the vegan choices. Made it easy for us to catch up!

Looks small from outside but spacious inside, feels fresh and clean. The food came out quickly. I really liked the salad, the greens were crisp and the dressing was light. Portion was just right for lunch.

Been here a few times for business lunches. The food is consistently good, and the service is efficient. It's quiet enough to talk, which is a plus. A solid option near the office.

Been coming here for years, and the generous portions are the main reason. Always leaves me with lunch for the next day. It's just consistently good value.

The stew was the star, rich and deeply flavoured. The garlic mash underneath had just the right amount of garlic, not overpowering. It all came together really well. The coffee afterwards was a good, strong cup, which was exactly what I wanted.

Been coming here for years, it's a solid local spot. The staff always check in on you, not just once but a few times during the meal. Makes you feel looked after. Food's always reliable, nothing fancy but gets the job done.

The vegan and gluten-free options are a nice touch, especially for breakfast. Menu's got a bit of everything without breaking the bank. My veggie scramble was solid, though the GF toast was a bit dry.

Stopped by with my dog after a walk. They had water bowls out and didn't mind him chilling by the table. Made it easy to grab a quick bite without the usual hassle.

Found a taste of home here. The poutine was just like I remember from back in Canada. Quick and satisfying lunch.

Stopped by for a quick tea. The Earl Grey in a china mug was lovely. Plenty of seating inside and out, which is always a plus.

The grilled fish was the highlight for me. It was so fresh and flaky, cooked perfectly. I appreciated that it wasn't fried. The side of seasonal greens was a nice, light complement. A solid choice for a healthier meal.

A cosy little place just a short walk from Central station. Perfect for a quick bite. I tried their haggis bonbons - crispy on the outside, really flavourful inside. Just what I needed on a drizzly afternoon.

Good for a quick business lunch. Plenty of tables, so you can get in and out without waiting. Had the grilled salmon, it was fine. Service was prompt, which is what I needed. The space is large and quiet enough to talk.

The shawarma was tasty, but the real star was the bread. Freshly made, still warm and soft. It made the whole thing.

Solid hot pot for first-timers. Staff took time to explain the process, which helped. The DIY cooking was engaging. Left feeling full without being overpriced. A practical option near the station.

The Irn Bru ice cream was a real surprise. The flavour was spot on, not too sweet. Really enjoyed it. Shame about the limited seating inside though, had to wait a bit for a table.

The mocha here is spot on. Rich, not too sweet, with a proper chocolate hit. They remembered I liked it a bit less sweet the second time I came in. That's the kind of detail that keeps me coming back for the coffee alone.

Tried their lunch special for the first time. The three-course menu had some really nice options – went for the sea bass and it was spot on. Good portion for the price.

Been coming here for years. The Christmas set menu was decent - food came out hot, looked good on the plate. The roast was tasty, no complaints. Service was fine, waiter was polite as always. Place looks nice with the decorations up.

Been coming here for ages. The menu's small, but they really know what they're doing with those few dishes.

My go-to in Shawlands. The food's always spot on, and their coffee pairs perfectly with the hearty breakfast.

This shaved ice is the real deal, especially the matcha. It's got that perfect, slightly bitter edge that cuts through the sweetness. A really nice spot to stumble upon in the West End.

The Belgian Bites were spot on - crispy outside, fluffy inside. Waffle pops for dessert were a fun touch. Portions are huge, definitely come hungry or plan to share. Couldn't finish it all myself.

The staff presented our own birthday cake beautifully. A nice touch, and their wine list had some interesting pairings to go with it.
