The service was first class! We did not expect such amazing service and we even bought some bottles to go after learning about how it is made and the region it is from. The wine specialist really knows his wine and his recommendations were on point AND he spoke English. We don&rsquo;t expect people to be able to speak English but when they do it really helps! The food was amazingly prepared and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant on the beautiful grounds of the hotel.

Thank to the advise of our host we went down the mountain and up again to this lovely restaurant, we were welcomed by a very nice man who explained everything about this beautiful place.The food was excellent just cooked as we liked, the view was really amazing, we went back for a second visit.Well done,Cock and Elly

Salt and Pepper makes everything better!!Fantastic very local eatery, Bistecca Fiorentina with porcini mushrooms was fantastic.  The meat was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and presented. It was a feast for our eyes as well as our bellies.  A very good selection of regional starters and first course.  The carpaccio is not to be missed but if it&rsquo;s not your thing my wife had the pici Cacio e&rsquo; Pepe, and I had the Tagliatelli con ragu Cinghali.  Their wine list is extensive.  Prices for the steak courses are actually not bad at all.  Our steak was &euro;78 and was more than enough for the 2 of us.  Service was attentive but not intrusive, and they did have an English speaking server.  The owner was making the rounds and ensured that all was more than satisfactory.  One more thing&hellip; and like other restaurants where desserts are money making after thoughts, not so here.  A must is the filo dough and apple strudel-type, and &ldquo;cream&rdquo; flavored gelato.  Wow!

They accommodated our request for a view of the Ponte Vecchio and boy did it deliver! And given our 6pm reservation time (which we were late for due to a mistake in our directions!) they allowed us a couple of hours to enjoy the view and it was just a terrific experience overall. Will definitely return and highly recommend it - the view, the food and the drink! Perfect!

The ambience was cosy and cool. The service was incredibly attentive and wine recommendations were fabulous. Enjoyed the food which did not disappoint and they did not let us over order!! Would highly recommend!!!

If you want a break from Italian food would 100% recommend Cloud 59.  Best burgers we have ever had, and the staff were wonderful, including a shot at the bar with Taylor that got me a disapproving look from the wife

This place is one of my favorites the drive from Lucca not far but worth it every time, even if it were further  wouldn&rsquo;t stop me from going!  Food is amazing along with the service and wine !  :)

We had to try Florentine steak while we were in Tuscany and la mandragola did not disappoint.  The large steak was severed on a hot cast iron plate and to be shared for 2 or more persons.  The steak was moist and tender.

Good choice of food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.The saffron risotto with raw beef was the best risotto I&rsquo;ve ever tasted. Definitely recommend

This little restaurant full of only locals was a great find. The food was very good and Marco could not have been a better host. While there does seem to be some front of house issues to address (service was very slow due to being understaffed) the kindness of the staff is genuine and infectious.Everything we had from appetizers, to seafood, to pasta to pizza was fantastic! Highly recommend this hard to find little spot.

This lovely restaurant is nestled in an old palazzo on the side of a hill overlooking Florence. Everything about Trattoria La Gargotta was perfect &ndash; excellent service, relaxing jazz music, truly delicious food, and an ambience thoughtfully designed to enjoy a spectacular meal. Thanks for a relaxing evening; we&rsquo;ll return for sure.

This place is a hidden gem! The quality of the food is excellent, and the view is breathtaking. It&#39;s a great choice for a romantic dinner or a special occasion.
