Found near the park. Lunch rush was packed. Staff handled it well though. Good quality for the price, especially downtown.

Popular spot, had to wait a bit. No reservations, but they move people through fast. Got there right at opening.

The kabosu juice highball was a nice local touch. Menu's got a lot of Oita specialties to choose from.

The hospitality at this restaurant is exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful time, making it a perfect place for special occasions.

The tonkatsu was good, tender inside with a nice crunch. It's definitely a step up from the fast-food kind. The portion felt a bit small for the price, though.

A classic deli under the train tracks near the station. Got the pastrami sandwich. The meat was tender and the rye bread was fresh, just the right amount of mustard. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat, but it was worth it for that kind of simple, honest food.

Been coming here for years. The staff are always friendly, and service is quick. It's nice that they speak English too, makes ordering easy. That consistency is what keeps me coming back.

Evening visit. Izakaya style, small seating charge comes with otoshi. Toriten was the star. Quality chicken, light crispy batter. Really good.

The cold noodles here are so refreshing! Perfect after a hot spring day. We shared a few grilled meats and the combo was just right for a casual dinner with friends. The vibe is chill and not too loud.

The chef's international training is clear in the fusion dishes. But for the price point, I expected a bit more generous portions. The flavors were skilled, just left wanting a little more on the plate.

Still think about the ramen here years later. The broth was so rich and deep, just the right kind of savory. The noodles had a perfect chew. It's the one I compare all others to now.

Good Western-style Japanese food, especially the hamburgers. The free coffee refill bar is a solid plus.

The Beppu-style cold noodles were exactly what I needed on a sweltering day. The broth was so light and refreshing, but you could really taste the depth from the beef and kelp. A total lifesaver! 🍜

Just walked in for lunch. The old house is really nice, quiet and peaceful. Had a simple meal here, felt relaxed.

Been coming here for years. The menu doesn't change much, but that's fine. You always get a big, solid plate of food. It's just reliable.

Been coming here for years. Their wagyu set still melts in your mouth, and the price hasn't changed much.

Been coming here for years, and the counter seats are still my favorite. Watching them prepare each dish right in front of you never gets old.

The staff here is so warm and polite. I appreciate how they try to accommodate walk-ins even when it's busy. A reservation is definitely needed though, as they're often fully booked.

Cozy spot, feels like a private kitchen. The food is unpretentious but you can tell the chefs put care into it. Had the grilled fish, it was pretty good, cooked just right. A bit on the quiet side, but fine for a relaxed dinner.

Found this spot by accident. Nice cottage feel. Breakfast set is a good deal. Shokupan toasted just right, pancakes are fluffy. Coffee was strong but came out a bit slow. Good for a quick bite.

Plenty of free parking, which is a big plus around here. The space inside is huge.

Been coming here for years. The portions are still big and the price is fair. You get a lot for what you pay.

Grabbed a late lunch here with friends. The food came out super fast, which was perfect because we were all starving. The menu is straightforward, so no one got stuck deciding. A solid spot when you just need something good and quick with the crew.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They have an English menu and some servers speak English, which made ordering straightforward. It was a decent experience overall.

The tempura soba and udon set was pretty good, a decent portion for the price. The toriten was also nice, crispy and not too heavy. A fine spot for a quick, simple lunch.

Called ahead and got a table. The place was packed, even on a weekday. Had the grilled fish, simple but good. Glad we didn't just walk in.
