Been going here for years, it&#39;s a proper village pub. The Sunday roast is always spot on, the lamb and pork are cooked just right with all the trimmings. Can&#39;t fault it.

The full English breakfast was solid, really liked the local sausages. Just a heads up, it&#39;s not included with the room, which was a bit of a surprise. The dining area itself is lovely though, bright and airy.

The butter chicken was spot on, and the portions are definitely generous. Good value.

I have been a regular visitor to Englishes for many years, it is my favourite place to eat in Brighton, when I visit from London. On this occasion I brought a friend to celebrate her 60th birthday. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious as is their house champagne! It was relatively quiet inside the restaurant as the majority of the customers were sitting outside. The service was excellent.

Booked ahead and glad we did, it was packed! The English breakfast was spot on, really well done. Just a bit pricey for what it is, but you can taste the quality in the ingredients.
