The French onion soup was the standout. Rich, deep flavor, proper amount of cheese. Rest of the meal was decent, nothing wrong with it. Service was quick and friendly, no complaints there. I'd come back for that soup alone.

The homemade cheesecake was the highlight. Fresh, creamy, not too sweet. Worth stopping by if you're near the market square.

The scampi with potato slices was the standout — properly cooked, not rubbery at all. Easy to find, and the staff handled our English without any hassle.

Great spot to catch up with friends over dinner. Service was super attentive and the place felt bright and cozy. Solid five stars from me 🌟

The staff actually helped us pick cheaper options without making it awkward. Got the schnitzel and it was solid, though the sides felt a bit small for the price. Place was busy but not chaotic. Nice spot if you want decent German food without the tourist trap vibe.

The 200g cheeseburger here is solid. Organic meat comes through in the taste. Probably one of the better ones in Essen.

The chef actually came out to tweak a dish for my dietary needs. No fuss, no eye-rolls. That kind of flexibility is rare. Service was quick too, and they take cards. Solid spot if you're in the area.

The Mexican burger was really good. Staff let us hang around with our wine after we finished, no rush at all. Nice change.

The surprise menu with the pear dish and wine pairing was really nice. €32.50 felt fair for what you got. Service was friendly and attentive without hovering.

First time here and honestly the meat was so tender. Really well seasoned too, not dry at all. Portion size felt right for what you pay. Service was quick even though it seemed busy. Would come back if I'm in the area again.

The gambas salad was really good, prawns cooked just right. Quattro formaggi pizza had a nice balance, not too heavy. Terrace is big and dogs are welcome, which I appreciated. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. Maybe a bit pricey for what you get, but I'd still come back for that salad.

The pasta and saltimbocca were really good. Prices are steep though, especially for drinks. Service was fine, but I'm not sure it's worth the splurge every time.

Came in on a busy night, took a while before our drinks showed up. Not the fastest service, but the guys working were chill about it. Food was decent, nothing crazy. Probably fine if you're not in a rush.

The sweet potato fries were decent, and the truffle mayo added a nice touch. It got a bit busy, but the noise level stayed manageable for a chat.

The food quality in Buer has genuinely improved—I was surprised. Outdoor seating is the spot during summer. Pub vibe is chill too.

The bread-making class was really hands-on and fun. Learned a few tricks about traditional baking and got to take my loaf home. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

The pumpkin soup was really good, that one I remember. The quail egg on top didn't do much for me though. Service was slow, took about an hour for the rest to come out. Not sure I'd rush back, but the soup alone might be worth it.

Stopped by after wandering around Zollverein — needed a proper break. Coffee was solid, cake even better. Staff let me take my time, no rush at all. Place has that relaxed vibe you don't always find near tourist spots. Would've liked a proper wine option with the dessert, but the espresso did the job fine.

Great service, super friendly staff. Food was solid and prices fair. Cozy spot, liked the little party corner near the toilets.

Pasta was properly al dente and the wine list worked well with the meal. Service friendly enough, though it did take a while to get the bill.

Walked in and the fruit smell hit me right away. Got a smoothie, thick and cold, definitely real fruit. Staff helped me pick a combo, spot on.

Despite some service delays, the food was tasty and the overall experience was positive. The restaurant offers a good variety of dishes, making it convenient for hotel guests.

Stopped by for a late lunch, ordered the grilled fish and a side salad. Fish was cooked just right, flaky and moist. Salad was fresh, not the sad wilted stuff you get at some places. Portion size was decent for the price. Service was friendly, no complaints there. Only thing, it got a bit busy around 1pm, so a little noisy. But overall a solid meal.

Came here on a quiet weekday evening. Sat outside by the pond, that was nice. Had the bruschetta and the creamy mushroom linguini. Both were solid, pasta had good flavor. Service was friendly, didn't have to wait long for anything. Prices are okay for the area. Not a place I'd rush back to, but if you're in the neighborhood it does the job.

We got there pretty late and they still found us a table, which I appreciated. The marinated shrimp were decent, truffle fries had a good kick to them. Honestly the seating area felt a bit cramped though, not the most comfortable for a long dinner. Service was friendly enough, no complaints there. Just wish the chairs were a little more forgiving.
