The second largest city in Crete after Heraklion, Kannia was the administrative center of Crete until 1971. The city has a strong Venetian heritage. The most famous attraction in Kannia is the Port of Venice. There are several places in Crete that are reserved in Venetian style, but only in good condition is Cania.
