观鱼台位于新疆布尔津喀纳斯景区内，建于海拔2030米的哈拉开特（ 蒙古语意为“ 骆驼峰）”山顶上，与湖面的垂直落差达600多米，因处于观察“湖怪”的最佳位置，故得名观鱼亭。观鱼亭是喀纳斯景点中的极品，是唯一一个能驻足饱览喀纳斯美景的最佳平台。始建于1987年，这次改建后才叫观鱼台。为何叫观鱼台，我以为原因有三。首先，叫亭者必然顶亭大于底台，而这次重建正是底台大于顶亭，台大于亭，当然应该叫台。还有，亭有自我封闭的嫌疑，台有向外开放的气度，这正符合了时代进步的要求。其次，亭台二字相比，谐音太有讲究。匹夫常人者，亭乃停也，台乃抬焉，我花钱来旅游，为的是寻求快乐和吉利，为何要停而不抬呢。哪个人不希望在喀纳斯旅游回去后人生有所进步，事业有所成就。再次，在山底湖面之中仰望观鱼台，它正像是一个端然坐于西山之上的香火台。如遇天空有云雾缭绕或晚霞夕照的景象，香火台上则云蒸霞蔚，满眼祥云仙气弥漫其间。这三者正是叫台优于叫亭的原由。登观鱼台是到喀纳斯旅游行程中最后的那个惊叹号。不登观鱼台，不足以领略喀纳斯美景美景的极致;不登观鱼台，更不足以感悟人生的真谛所在
