Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

Condor Plaza is a cultural park located in Uluwatu, the highest point in southern Bali, near Jimbaran Beach. It is a prototype square left unfinished from the Suharto era. The reason it is named Condor Plaza is because the world's tallest bronze statue of a condor was originally erected here. Here, you can also enjoy the beautiful southern Bali scenery from a height. Origin of Condor Plaza In 2003, the Indonesian government began the construction of Condor Plaza. The plan was to build a statue of the Hindu god of destruction and his mount, the condor, on the mountain. The total height would exceed 100 meters. It is said that a monk once advised Suharto that after the completion of this bronze statue, it would bless the prosperity of the Indonesian nation as well as the happiness and safety of its people. However, Suharto stepped down before the square was completed, so this expensive project was halted. The upper body, arms, and head of the condor are scattered across various parts of the square. Although the Condor Plaza statue is an "unfinished project," it is still worth seeing. From Jimbaran to the south, along Jalan Uluwatu, you can come to the hill where Condor Plaza is located. After entering the gate and climbing the stairs, you will see a statue of a snake wearing a laurel crown with a slender, coiled body on one side. This hill is about 200 meters high. When you reach the hilltop, you can see the large bronze statue of the "god of destruction" Vishnu. Although only the head and chest are completed, the very lifelike facial expression still looks impressive. The arms of the "god of destruction" are placed beside a small path in the middle of the hill, so you can look for them. If you walk further in, you will see the giant statue of a condor's head facing the flat square in front. This square was excavated from the mountain with large excavators. The high and neat stone walls around the square were originally planned to be carved with Hindu inscriptions and mythological stories.Bali · 18.1km from downtown

Nusa Lembongan

Nusa Lembongan is an offshore island southeast of Bali, reachable by speedboat from the main island. The water here is crystal clear and often called "glass sea" by travelers, with soft white sand, shady coconut groves, quiet villages, and a slow pace of life—ideal for vacationers who want to escape the bustle of the main island and focus on relaxing by the sea. Devil's Tear is a highly recognizable cliffside tide-watching spot on the island, formed from a gap in the cliff face carved by waves over the years. At high tide, seawater surges upward in a spectacular display; on clear days, the water in the pool shows distinct layers of blue in the sunlight, and rainbows can occasionally be seen in the mist. It is only a few minutes' walk from Dream Beach, but the waves are fierce at high tide, so keep a safe distance from the cliff edge when viewing. The island's main beaches each have their own character: Mushroom Beach is one of the gateways to the island, with calm waters in the bay and abundant water activities; Dream Beach has clear water and fine white sand, but strong underwater currents make it better suited for sunbathing and photos on the sand; Sunset Beach faces the open sea and is a great spot to watch the sun sink into the ocean in the evening. There are numerous dive sites around the island. Snorkeling alone lets you see coral and tropical fish. Experienced divers can head to nearby sites like Blue Corner, or take a boat to spots such as Crystal Bay on the neighboring Nusa Penida side, where you may encounter manta rays and, in certain seasons, even ocean sunfish. On the northeast side of the island, you can explore the mangroves by small boat or kayaking, where colorful little crabs crawl among the roots and waterbirds flit past—a leisurely-paced adventure. Seaweed farming was once a traditional industry on this island, and patches of seaweed fields still remain on some tidal flats today. From the hilltop viewpoint, you can take in red-roofed villages, anchored boats, and seaweed flats all at once, catching a glimpse of the island's authentic everyday life. There are no ride-hailing services on the island, so getting around mainly relies on renting a motorcycle or chartering a local songthaew or beach buggy. The roads are mostly slopes and gravel, so ride with caution. If you have enough time, you might want to save dusk for Sunset Beach, watching the setting sun dye the sea golden before slowly sinking into the water.Bali · 25.8km from downtown

This was more fun than I expected. We visited in mid-July and the crowd was quite manageable. Most rides had short waiting time, while popular ones like Python took around 20 - 30 minutes. My favourite was the Boomerang. So much fun! Python was another highlight, while Climax was definitely the most extreme one for me 😂There are plenty of food stops and shaded areas, so the afternoon sun wasn’t too bad. Some rides allow phones or action cameras while others don’t. There are shoe racks but at your own risk. And temporary phone racks before the rides too, staff will give you a band to identify your belongings.Overall, a really fun day out!Note: Cashless system in the park. For the 3 of us, recommended to load Rp. 1mil in the wristband for locker, food and drinks. They recommend Rp. 500k but it’s not enough. You can also top up within the park, just ask the staff.

Nusa Penida is worth visiting because it has some of Bali's most spectacular coastal scenery such as dramatic cliffs, turquoise water, white-sand beaches and famous viewpoints that look almost unreal in photos.

We actually enjoyed walking around the park! The statues were cool and it was interesting to learn about all the folklore. We didn’t go up the statue, as it was a bit pricey. But overall, definitely worth a visit.

This tour was interesting, and we got to see manta rays. The snorkeling was also very good!I received the photos on the same day, and they turned out to be quite good qualityWe were provided with water and a towel, and after snorkeling, we could take a shower and change clothesThe Nusa Penida tour was not bad overall, but due to the road conditions, the car ride was very bumpy and made me quite carsick

Definitely worth a visit! The interactive experience is fantastic, and the emotional value is immense – adults will find just as much joy as children! My previously withered soul was revitalized! Thank you 🙏🏻 to all the human and animal staff at the park for making this a wonderful day!

Overall, an iconic Bali cultural performance! The Kecak dance was super energetic and the cliffside sunset view was gorgeous. The only downside is that it is extremely crowded and packed tight with tourists. Still a great experience, also heavy traffic leaving the venue, took us almost 2hr back to seminyak.
