The Hassan II Mosque is located on the Atlantic coast of Casablanca and was completed in 1993. It is one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim travelers. A significant portion of the mosque extends over the sea, allowing worshippers to pray facing the ocean—a design inspired by the Quranic imagery of "the throne upon the water." Standing beside the mosque is its approx. 210 m tall minaret, topped with a laser beam pointing toward Mecca, visible from many parts of the city and even the sea. The mosque can accommodate over 100,000 worshippers simultaneously, both inside and outside, ranking among the largest in the world. Visitors must join guided tours to explore the mosque, which includes access to the prayer hall—a rare opportunity. The hall features polished marble floors, cedar wood carvings from the Middle Atlas Mountains, hand-cut glazed mosaics, and smooth plaster walls, all illuminated by Murano glass chandeliers. The central roof can open, allowing the hall to bask in sunlight on clear days. Outside, the seaside plaza and seawall offer iconic views, with white stone walls reflecting the Atlantic's blue hues and waves crashing nearby. Visitors are reminded to observe religious etiquette: shoes must be removed before entering, shoulders and knees should be covered, and women are advised to cover their hair (scarves are often available at the entrance). Old City (Casablanca) is the original core of the city, rebuilt by Sultan Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah in the second half of the 18th century on the ruins of the old city. Unlike the old cities of Marrakech or Fes, this is not a tourist district, but a living, working market. The alleys are crowded with hardware stores, butcher stalls, shoe shops, and teahouses. Handcarts rattle on the cobblestones, the call to prayer from the minaret cuts through the market's bustle, and the salty sea breeze drifts in from the port from time to time. The iconic entrance to the Old City is Bab Marrakech, an arched gate built by the Sultan when he rebuilt the city after the earthquake, facing south and connecting to the old trade route to Marrakech. Passing through the gate, you enter the winding market alleys. Following the alleys toward the port, you reach the Sqala Fortress. This 18th-century coastal fortification still retains old-fashioned cannons facing the Atlantic Ocean. Climbing the walls offers a panoramic view of the stone walls, the sea, and the fishing port. At the junction of the old city and the French-style new city, the clock tower at United Nations Square marks the boundary between the two districts and is also a suitable starting point for a walking tour of the Old City.

Visiting the Hassan II Mosque was the absolute highlight of my time in Casablanca. From the moment I stepped onto the oceanfront esplanade, I was struck by its sheer scale—the intricate zellij tilework, carved cedar ceilings, and the towering 210-meter minaret are breathtaking in person. The guided tour was well-organized and gave fascinating insight into Moroccan craftsmanship and Islamic tradition, but the most unforgettable moment was standing in the glass-floored prayer hall, watching the Atlantic waves roll directly beneath my feet. Even if you're not religious, this is a masterpiece of art and engineering that deserves a spot on any traveler's itinerary. Just be sure to arrive early for the best light and fewer crowds—it's an experience that will stay with me forever.

Casablanca's Miami Beach Boulevard is the most beautiful traffic avenue here. Driving along this avenue, you can enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery and the magnificent sunset. You can also take a walk or exercise here in the evening, which feels really warm and comfortable.

Everyone is familiar with Casablanca in Morocco. During World War II, spies from all over the world gathered here. There are movies about the scene at that time. I first learned about Casablanca from the movie, which prompted me to travel here.

However, due to lack of funds and frequent earthquakes, the project was forced to be interrupted, leaving only more than 100 unfinished minarets and the 44-meter-high Jacinto.

It was an accident to come to this church. We found it by accident while navigating. But we unexpectedly found that the church is really beautiful, especially the sunlight passing through the stained glass, reflecting the colorful light, holy and beautiful. Also, inside the church, the stories from the Bible made of stained glass are particularly eye-catching. Although it is a niche place, it is worth a visit.

Place does nations unies The square is crowded in the afternoon. It is a peaceful scene. There are also young people performing various shows. As they sing, the onlookers start dancing. It is a bit like the square dance aunties in front of the Chinese government square.
