The Chiayi City God's Temple was located in Zhuluo County, Taiwan Prefecture during the Qing Dynasty. The City God's Temple was originally built by the government and was also one of the three ancient temples in Zhuluo City. At that time, the jurisdiction of Zhuluo County extended from Xingang River in the south to Keelung in the north, including Yilan, Hualien, and Taiwan. The eastern area and so on are all within the scope of Zhuluo County City God's worship. Since the establishment of the temple, incense has been at its peak. The City God enshrined in the main hall is a Taiwanese sculpture with a delicate and solemn appearance. It has also witnessed the local history and cultural belief center of Chiayi, and is classified as a third-level historic site.
