Reviews: From Kyoto/Osaka: Zen Temples & Kifune Shrine Small-Group Cultural Experience Day Tour
Guest User2026-08-27
The tour is very friendly to travelers who walk 20,000 steps a day or more, but it's too packed and rushed for those who want to explore a place in depth. Nanzen-ji Temple, Sanzen-in Temple, and Kifune Shrine are all places worth spending half a day to appreciate. This time, I joined a tour to familiarize myself with the route, and I definitely want to come back on my own next time. We arrived in Kifune at 1:40 pm. Since this was our last stop, we decided to leave the tour with the friends we met along the way and have a more in-depth, leisurely tour. We experienced the riverbed, tried the Okumiya matcha tea, took the tram and then the subway, and enjoyed many other pleasant experiences along the Kamo River.

Guide Seo Geum-bong was truly the best. He kindly and easily explained not only every place but also the history and etiquette of the tourist attractions. Thanks to the guide, I had a comfortable and memorable day in Kyoto.

Reviews: Kyoto: Hidden Gems E-Bike Tour with Local Japanese Guide
Guest User2026-10-28
Tai was a great guide. He not only went over the history of the sites we visited, but also explained more about Japanese culture in general (how to bow at shrines, why there are no trash cans, work culture, etc.. Things I’ve been curious about!). It was helpful to know the traffic laws in Kyoto too, which from observation were hard to pick up on. We ended up renting bikes from them after the tour for the next few days.

Reviews: Kyoto: E-Bike Tour - Highlights, Backstreets & Local Secrets
Guest User2026-11-02
I booked this e-bike tour last minute and it turned out to be one of the highlights of Kyoto. Our guide Kein was the kindest, warmest person, and clearly loves the city he rides through every day. Over four relaxed hours we visited two shrines and two temples and rode along the Kamo River, mostly on quiet back lanes rather than busy roads. The highlight for me was a place off the beaten path that I'd never have found on my own. It's now one of the most beautiful spots I've seen in Kyoto. Along the way, our guide shared a lot about Japanese religion and how shrines and temples fit into everyday life, which I found fascinating. The e-bikes made the gentle hills easy, the pace left plenty of time to take things in, and our small group got along so well that several of us went for dinner together afterwards. As a solo traveller, I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended if you want to see the quieter, local side of Kyoto.
